Alabama is up 24 over Texas Tech at the half. UConn is going to defeat UCLA as they are up 14 at 71-57 with just 1:28 to play.

UConn defeats UCLA 73-57 to advance to the Sweet 16.

With Alabama up 25 with under 15 to play. I think it is safe to say they will advance to the Sweet 16. 

The breakdown for the Sweet 16 by conference:

Big 12- 3

Big East-2

ACC-1

I had high expectations for this Alabama / Texas Tech game. I thought it would be the game of the tournament. Alabama is dismantling the Raiders. 

 

Alabama will be fine in the tournament until they meet a team that is willing to go thru the "grind" to get a win.

Interesting that Florida coach Golden said their strategy on the last shot by Iowa was to foul. Florida led by 2 at that time. So Golden wanted to foul and put a player at the foul line with a chance to tie. His defensive alignment on the play doesn't fit that strategy but that is what he said post game.

I understood it, the same guy who made the shot shouldn't had been in the game. They missed some FT's so why not? Kid made a great shot other than that. Credit to Iowa.

I get the strategy of fouling but definitely unusual. The bigger question is why face guard the in bounds play if you plan to foul right away?

Been trying to figure that part out, same thing can go along with running the floor with 4.6 seconds left right into the rim and not having any time to put a shot up.
