How does what work?

That reads as if it is their 4th high school.  How can they be eligible.

I’m pretty sure the progression was Danville - 7th, Taylor- 8th and 9th, Somerset - 10th.  I’m not an expert on the inner workings off the KHSAA but I think the middle school years aren’t counted.

In Tennessee middle school history does not count. I would guess the KHSAA rule would be similar.

What are we doing?

Middle school doesn't count because you can't play high school football until the 9th grade. As long as your parents move, you could be eligible at a new school every year.

You can't stop a kid from moving. Boyle's program isn't going to change itself for one player. If he buys in and is a better player than the people in front of him, he will play. If he's not then he won't.

People move to Boyle for many different reasons. Jobs, school system, football, family connections etc. Don't blame Justin Haddix for being the best football coach in the state of Ky. Kids want to play for him, they want to be on a State Championship team. He won't talk to a kid that is not already enrolled in BCHS. He does more for these kids than more people ever know. Most of the people complaining are just jealous of the success earned thru hard work on his part and his staff , plus the work that the kids put in every day. As a former very successful coach, administrator, I know a special coach when I see one. His detractors need to get to work or get over it. Happy Valentines Day.

He repeated 8th grade twice. He played at John Bate his 8th grader then left during basketball season and enrolled at Taylor County and repeated 8th grade.

This seems to be a lot of speculation about nothing that Boyle has done. I think the young man you are talking about is recovering from an injury. He moved to Boyle and enrolled in school without the football coaches even being aware. If anyone thinks he is coming here and stepping into some starting position, they are badly fooled. I think this is just something to pass the time for those of us that have too much time on our hands during these winter months.

We are going to move back to the 2026 Boyle County Rebels in this thread or we won't have any new posts.

Not a bad non-district schedule. ? Four 6A teams, LexCath, Highlands & the 2A State Runners-up. Should have them ready for the playoffs!

Boyle's non-district schedule is wonderful, perfect for them.

Coach Justin Haddix and 3 other coaches conducted a Football Coaches Clinic at the Hyatt in Lexington and had 400 coaches in attendance. Coach Stein from UK was one of the speakers, plus one of Oklahoma's coaches among others.

Gavin Johnson with his first D-1 offer before playing 1 down for the Rebels. Congrats young man.
