Campbellsville is making its 3rd straight State Semifinals appearance in 3 years. Campbellsville comes into this matchup 11-1 on the season and beating Newport Central Catholic 28-0 in round 3. Kentucky Country Day is also making its 3rd straight State Semifinals appearance in 3 years.  They also sit at 11-1 on the season. There lone loss came to this Campbellsville team back in October as they lost 27-17. Kentucky Country Day beat Newport 37-6 in round 3 of the playoffs.

Who wins this 1A Showdown on Black Friday to go to the ship? Does Campbellsville come into Kentucky Country Day and beat them again? Does Kentucky Country Day avenge its regular loss and play for the state championship?

I checked in on the Campbellsville vs. New Cath livestream last night, and a bit more this morning. The Eagles were impressive and should win this rematch.

I believe that Campbellsville wins, and likely without much trouble. I’m also beginning to lean more towards them winning state. 

I am hoping to be watching the Eagles at Kroger Field!  Has Campbellsville ever made it to the finals?

Campbellsville has been beat the last two years in the semi state by the state champ. In 2023, they played with Pikeville and ended up getting beat. Pikeville went on to win. Then in 24 the played Sayre in the semi state and then they went on to win the state championship.

It seems like this Campbellsville pass defense has continued to improve in the latter part of the season, which seemed to be their main weakness early in the year. KCD is a team that doesn’t throw it around very much and that plays in favor of the Eagles. This game should be being played in Campbellsville, but the good ole RPI favors numbers over head to head results, which makes no sense to me. Give me Campbellsville to go on the road and win a close one, 28-24.

Campbellsville wins this one 35-17 and makes their 1st appearance to Kroger field in program history. The score from the game earlier in the year is a little deceiving. C-Ville dominated KCD, couple TDs called back and they gave up a late TD. 

Campbellsville wins this one. They played earlier this year, with the ville walking away with 10 point win. Give me the ville by two touchdowns.

Nope, if that was a thing, my Rams would have a State Championship.  No free passes, no three times a charm.  Nope.  

This will be another exciting game. It will come down to turnovers IMO. In the first matchup, Campbellsville dominated in that department by not turning the ball over. In the 2nd quarter, KCD fumbled, dropped an INT, and failed to convert on 4th and 2 on the Campbellsville 10 before half. Also, Campbellsville took advantage of some KCD penalties and #55 DOMINATED in the 2nd half. He's the best all-around lineman in Class A IMO. Give me Campbellsville 28-21.
