I think the Bowling Green game last year foreshadowed how the season would end; Bowling Green dominated the Tigers.

This will be an interesting game, after the first weekend it would appear St. X might be a pretty big favorite, but it wouldn't shock me to see this game played closer than some might expect after week 1.

What I've seen so far, BG isn't remotely the same team as last year, especially if Barber can't play. Deuce Bailey is a hard QB to replace and he played great in last year's game.

Unless something changes quickly in Bowling Green, this won’t be close.

X - 38

BG - 10

What a game Deuce Bailey had against St. X last year. I remembered him playing well but after looking at stat report he played better than I remembered.

I do believe that St X is highly motivated this year for 2 reasons: 1) Coach Wallace's last year; 2) the stunning running clock defeat at Ryle to end 2024

I don't see this game being close this year, especially with an uber talented player like Barber unable to play for BG.

BG will put it together by playoff time. Who would be surprised if they hoisted another trophy?

I do think X is a team on a mission and it appears they have the talent to accomplish that mission.

To hear some of the Bowling Green "experts" put it, this was possibly a worst ever performance by the Purples.  With that in mind and the fact that X looks like they are on a mission this year, could this game end up being a running clock?

I would be surprised if a running clock but I didn't think the Owensboro game would be a running clock. I'm sure BG will be motivated after losing to OC.

Game Information:

I was hoping for a closer game going into this year, but after last night I'm just looking to try to not get running clocked.

Who wins this game and why?

⏳ ?  ?

The only reason the '24 game was not a running clock is because BG took their foot off the gas and quit running Bailey.  St. X blowout predictions on this board are simply 'Rat Poison" for the Tigers.  10 days ago the Purples beat Male.  They had a bad night, they did not forget how to play.

Maxpreps ratings just updated and if right this one is going to be close.

I went back and looked at what the St. X senior class did as freshman and this was a good class. Only two losses was close game with Moeller and Moeller #1 in Ohio this year and other loss was by 2 pts to Male who played their froshmore team. The better a team's senior class is the better the team is usually.

Junior DB getting some interest from Austin Peay. 2nd fastest guy on the team. Key member of St. X track team.
