Week 2: The defending 1A state champions come to Alexandria.  Sayre is coming off a 31-28 loss to Kentucky Country Day.  Bishop Brossart beat Walton-Verona 15-7.

Sayre looked awfully good against Kentucky Country Day.  I didn't think they would still be that good after all that they lost. 

I’m interested in seeing how Brossart does in this game. Sayre clearly answered the question that they are better than many expected them to be after their game last Friday. Good luck to both teams.

There are some factors that many missed on Friday. I will leave you with this statement. The Spartans will be a very different team when district time rolls around. 

Give me the Spartans this week by two TD's.

For most of us "some factors missing" we have no idea what you mean.  We can only go by the product on the field.  Now if you said they were missing so and so because of injury who will be starting at ________ position by year end then we would have more context.  Or it could be coach didn't show much of the playbook due to so many new starters and figuring on seeing KCD down the road.  If you can be more specific about what will be different about Sayre by year's end that would help the masses.  

Sayre wins this one although I think Brossart will be more competitive than some think.  Also, glad to see Brossart playing some better teams.  They have had some gaudy records over the last few years but were non competitive in the playoffs due to playing such a weak schedule.

I am interested in seeing how Brossart's defense does in this one. In their two scrimmages against Boone and Scott, their defense essentially shut both teams out when the varsity players were in. Then Brossart shut out Walton-Verona's offense last week too. If Brossart's defense can keep playing at that same level, they may be able to make this game interesting.

I agree. I do not think they are going to play around with this Brossart team and they want to get rolling early.

Bishop Brossart’s defensive coordinator, Ed Smart, (head coach at Grayson Co for many years) will have the Brossart defense ready. Don’t know much about either team, but I do know he can coach some football and his kids will play hard and disciplined.

A bad exchange by Sayre near the goal line results in a safety.  Brossart up 2-0 late in the 3rd.

Even if 2-0, it’s impressive that Brossart is leading considering how Sayre played KCD last week.
