This is probably the best quarterback duel of Week 1, as Verax and Harney are two of the state's best. If Harney can take the next step as a passer, that would really unlock the full potential of CovCath's offense.

We've got an early Mr. Football spotlight game here, with Savage, Verax, and Harney sharing the field. Awards aren't won on opening weekend, but this game would stand out on someone's résumé... or two... or if we're lucky, all three.

Each will likely have their share of highlights on Friday, but the distribution, frequency, and timing of those high impact plays is what's drawing me into this game. Both quarterbacks can hurt you throwing or running, greatly expanding their influence on the outcome. And Savage is just as likely to run you over regardless of whether you have the ball or he does.

There will be a lot to chew on from both a team and individual perspective when this one's over.

I don’t know who to pick. I think that this game is equally important to both teams and I wouldn’t be surprised if the way each team’s season finished may be motivating both. I believe this will be close for whoever wins. Good luck to both teams on a hell of an opening game to begin the first week!

From what I'm being told, they're expecting to have one of one of the largest crowds since Cov Cath moved their home games from Saturday afternoon to Friday nights. Should be an absolutely electric environment for the season opener.

This is probably the best game in the state I know the least about. Both teams have strong rosters, coaches and aspirations to be playing on the last weekend of the season. Looking forward to keeping tabs on this one from afar. Appreciate @Colonels_Wear_Blueupdates already!

I still haven't voted and the poll is currently 53-36 Ryle.  Additionally, in the Pick 5 Contest it is currently 38-14 Ryle, wow!

The ole daddy's money chant. Hear that chant from public schools here in Louisville. I don't think Ryle is poor and probably has some money at the school. I get a laugh when Manual does it because a lot of wealthy people too cheap to pay tuition send their kids there and if they couldn't get their kid in there they would be sending their kids to private school.

I thought the same thing.  There are probably way more rich Ryle parents than CCH parents.
