Tranquility Base Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Not off to a good start. 0-2 and outscored 87-3. 2 More road games before they finally play in Crestview Hills.

Both were against I-AA teams, though. Southern Illinois is usually solid and Dayton, while non-scholarship, usually fields good teams, too. Division II play starts this week and you'll get a better sense of who Thomas More is in relations to their peers.

Jack of all Trades Posted September 10 Posted September 10 The problem with TMU football is they want to be D2, but recruit at D3 level. They struggled in NAIA before the move to D2. 1

They struggled in NAIA before the move to D2. Just my opinion but TMU football has a lot of issues and none of it is related to the players or the talent the area provides. As you mentioned, they just moved to D2 but still have the D3 mentality. They do ZERO marketing in the area. Unless you stumble across campus on a game day, you forget they have a team. And they do not have a D2 field. Let's be honest, it's a glorified HS field with a corporate sponsorship. If they want to be serious about competing in any sport other than women's basketball, the University as a whole needs to step up their game. Go big, or go home. 2
Tranquility Base Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Dropped to 0 - 3 with a loss to Northwood, 10 - 6. A loss is a loss, but at least they were competitive in this one. One more road game at Findlay before they finally get a home game in 2 weeks against Lake Erie.
Tranquility Base Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Findlay 37 TMU 7. Saints now at 0 - 4 and finally get a game at home next week.

Division 2 is much more challenging and Thomas More is playing very much like they are still in Division 3, which has a lot to do with almost everything. Their football stadium setup isn’t close to what the majority of D2 is. I went there last spring for a track meet that my daughter was in and I said the same to myself for what it is for a D2 football team.
Tranquility Base Posted October 5 Posted October 5 TMU drops to 0 - 5 on the season with a 21 - 15 loss to Lake Erie College (1 - 4).
Tranquility Base Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Saints fall to 0 - 6 after a 38 - 14 loss at #24 Ashland University.

Geez.......Over the course of time Thomas More has always bounced back and forth between NAIA and NCAA III. This move to NCAA II had to be done for good reasons but it has definitely not shown up in on field/court performances.
