2025 Stanley Cup

Featured Replies

This is about the time I start paying attention to hockey in earnest.

We have a rematch between the Florida Panthers - seeking to repeat - and the Edmonton Oilers, who look to become the first Canadian team to hoist the cup in eleventy billion years.

Each year once the Avs are out I pull for a team from Canada, so I really hope the Oilers get it. I’m very glad they knocked out Dallas just in general principle.

I am kind of the opposite, DF, give me the Panthers.

USA!  USA!  USA!

let's go Panthers. They are tough and play like they know how tough they are. 6th straight year a team from Florida is in the Finals has the internet abuzz about no income tax helping the Panthers secure better players with cheaper contracts.

A Canadian team hasn't won it all since the Canadians, featuring HOFer Patrick Roy in the net, in 1993. If Conner McDavid can get some help the Oilers have a real chance to win.

I root for the Blues.  Once they are gone which is normally early, I start down the path of "old WHA teams" that the Cincinnati Stingers played against.  So......I am now rooting for the Oilers.

For those of you that do not know the teams that came into the NHL from the WHA are the Quebec Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets and the Hartford Whalers.  As is always with the NHL you need a road map to figure out what happened to your teams.  Hartford became Carolina and Quebec became the Colorado Avalanche.

Two classic games so far and the series is even at 1-1.

I watched every minute of Game 1 and every minute of regulation of Game 2 last night before I had to call it a day. I'm rooting for the Oilers so kinda glad I didn't watch overtime! I think this may go seven games again and I wouldn't be surprised if every game goes into overtime. They seem like very even teams.

I disagreed with the goalie interference call against Florida in the first half. He was pushed into the goalie and the subsequent power play led to a quick goal or Edmonton.

I haven't watched five minutes of NHL hockey this year before these two Stanley Cups games. The first period last night may be the best, most entertaining hockey period I've ever watched. Connor McDavid is amazing.

What I didn’t like is they didn’t call anything until they realized the goalie was hurt, then they made the call. It looked more like an awkward fall by both players rather than interference.

2-2 after an OT win for the Oilers tonight.  Great game.

Florida goes back-to-back with a 5-1 win in Game 6.  From narrowly escaping the Leafs in Round 1 to dominating the rest of the way.

Stupid, stupid Leafs doomed us all.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

The Panthers have the mind set and skill set to keep this train rolling. Hard to believe from all their years of futility but it seems like Miami, and Tampa are two places guys WANT to play.
