The Mustangs went 9-3 overall and 2-1 in district play last season in 2024 under first-year head coach Adam Kozerski. Brossart lost in the second round of ythe 1A playoffs to Newport Central Catholic.

Brossart's starting QB Tyler Holtz, leading rusher Cameron Mandel, and top two tacklers in Shane Willike and aforementioned Mandel all graduate. 400-plus yard receivers in Issac Amin and Nicholas Cozzi were junior. So was kicker Max Runge. Cozzi also led the team in INTs.

District stays the same as it has been for over a decade with Brossart being aligned with Covington Holy Cross, Ludlow, and Trimble County. Has been favorable in recent history as the Mustangs have handled Trimble (in year's when they've had a team - 2010, 2015, 2016, 2023, 2024), have a five-game win steak vs Holy Cross, and have split each of the last four vs Ludlow.

8/22 at Walton-Verona

8/29 vs Sayre

9/12 vs Bracken County

While I think coach Kozerski did an amazing job in his first year, and is going to be very good for the Brossart program for a long time. I think going undefeated is being extremely optimistic and it’s more likely they lose at least 4 games or more, than go undefeated. They lost their stud RB and QB. Are there any possible studs moving into those spots this year?
 

To answer your question on the schedule. Sayre returns their whole Oline, and obviously coming off a state title. They are going to be good, even if not as good as last year. Ludlow has handled Brossart the last two years, and returns the district player of the year again. Bracken County returns the majority of their team, including their stud RB. Plus while it was just a scrimmage, Bracken handled Brossart pretty well in that scrimmage. DeSales is a bigger school and should be a tough game. Then based off how Walton-Verona ended last season and what they return, that game could be a toss up. Then Holy Cross was very young last year, so just depends on how that experience from last year helps them. 

No matter what though, I do think Coach Kozerski is building a solid program that is going to continue to be very successful.

I’ll bite. Are they playing St Henry bc they are a new program or because they believe it’ll help them be more competitive? I know I’m only hearing one side of the story, but why Isn’t NewCath on the schedule? I was told (last year) that Brossart HC was all in on putting them on the schedule and the AD shut it down. There are 4 small Catholic  football playing schools within 10-15 miles of each other, I’d love to see a round robin type deal in season. It would be awesome. The MAC is a very cool place to watch a game and they have the fan base to be a player in 1A.

It would be cool, but a big surprise if they do. I think they lose at least three games. Guess we will see.

Been absolutely dominated by Ludlow the past two years. Idk how you think that would change.
