I wonder which region has the longest distance between schools? In the 14th it is 137 miles from Irvine to Jenkins.

It would be that or maybe two 10th region plus there is some long drives for 8th region teams.

I’m thinking Scott to Montgomery County may be the longest drive in the 10th.  Somewhere around 110 miles.

Claryville to Mt. Sterling might not be longer, but it sure is mostly 2 lanes, hilly, and  winding.  Curious as to whether the Mustangs replicate the Camels’ drive or head north and take the cushy interstate route?

Per GPS (fastest route), Interstate.  As for me, I’m partial to Flour Creek Road.

Depends pretty much on whether it is daylight or dark.

In the 12th it's 109 miles from Lexington (Trinity Christian) to Whitley City (McCreary Central).  I'm not sure on the actual distance between the 2 schools.

After just now looking at a county map of Kentucky I’m pretty sure the longest distance between schools in any of the 16 regions is Estill County to Jenkins in the 14th at 137 miles, a 274 mile round trip. Needless to say those two schools did not play during the regular season. ?

Owsley County where I’m from is around 100 miles from Jenkins. When I was AD we played them and the way they traveled to Booneville was on Rt 15 from Letcher, through  Perry, into Breathitt, and from Jackson in Breathitt to Booneville on Rt 30, a winding and hilly old road that is 25 miles from Jackson. When their cheerleaders and players came into the gym several were sick from the curvy road. One of them said to me, “This town is in the head of nowhere!” ?

I said, “You’re wrong. Y’all are in the head of nowhere. Booneville is only 90 minutes from Lexington.”
