2025 Pulaski County Maroons

Pulaski County Maroons

2024 Outcome: 8-5, lost in the Regional Finals to Highlands.

2025 Outlook: Pulaski was a relatively young team led by underclassmen in 2023 and 2024. With another year in the weight room, and year 1 under Coach Travis Burns belt, Pulaski looks to push further and make some more noise in 2025.

? Brycedon Brown (OL/DL) | Camden Denham (OL/DL) | Harris Denmyer (WR/DB) | Broderick Finley | Mason Hall (OL/DL) | Ethan Idlewine (WR) | Gunner Loveless (LB/Y) | Brayden Ping

? Zak Anderson (QB) | Will Adams (QB/DB) | Kasen Brock (RB/LB) | Winston Ford (RB) | Boone Godby (DB/WR) | Cohen Finley (WR/DB) | Brady Hull (OL/DL) | Kolten Cain | Connor Blevins (OL/DL)

2024 year saw Pulaski County hire a new Head Coach in Travis Burns and finally take back the district. Since 2019, Southwestern had won every matchup besides 1, and had knocked PC out of the playoffs every year up to that point. They just didn't beat Southwestern, they ran clock on them and won by 36. The year started off with a heartbreaker to Beechwood where they were up late and lost, and also a heartbreaker to Madison Central that saw a long TD pass happen with less than a minute left. However, clock was ran in every district game, and they made a run to the region before losing to Highlands.

2025 will see the schedule much more beefed up. I've heard Johnson Central and Corbin will both be on it as well as some other big games. PC will be led by Zak Anderson and a plethora of other weapons waiting for their time to shine. They will be massive up front and will likely lean on a strong run game to pave the way for Mr. Do It All Kasen Brock.

What can we expect to see from the Maroons in 2025 with 5A having some big time teams clear out?

Really good season for the Maroons.  Tough to change leadership after Coach Hines had been there for such a long time.  Coach Burns did a great job his first season.

This is a sneaky good team and I see them taking another step forward this season.

If you made me say today who I'd take for my Final Four 5A Teams in 2025, I'd take, BG, Owensboro, Cooper and Pulaski County.  Who knows what RPI would do from there, but that would be an entertaining set of games.

Here's what the Pulaski County schedule is currently showing on Hudl. Looks like they still need a game, plus I'm not sure about which game is actually taking place on Sep 19 and which game is presumably the week after.

Aug 15 at Taylor County (Scrimmage)
Aug 22 at Henderson County
Aug 30 vs. Bryan Station (at Boyle County Rebel Bowl)
Sep 5 at North Hardin
Sep 12 vs. Corbin
Sep 19 at Johnson Central
Sep 26 vs. South Warren
Oct 3 - BYE
Oct 10 vs. South Laurel (District)
Oct 17 at North Laurel (District)
Oct 24 vs. Southwestern (District)
Oct 31 at Bell County

South Warren will be at home on the 26th. They are still looking for a Week 1 game.

It blows my mind that Pulaski County and Somerset don't play each other in Football and they are less than a mile apart. It seems like it could be a good rivalry/ bragging rights game. Does Anyone know the reason that they don't play each other ?

I would think more often than not Pulaski would beat up on Somerset.

I could be wrong, but pretty sure Somerset is beginning to play one of the county teams per season starting next year with Southwestern.  Then the following season play Pulaski.  Someone more in the know can correct me if I’m wrong, or clarify with more details.

I think Somerset will play SW for 2 years (Home/Home), then Pulaski for 2 years.

Somerset didn't think they could compete up front with PC this cycle, wanted to wait a cycle.
