PT (13-0) Corbin (12-1) *Player stats do not include 3rd round games*

It was looking like PT would be making a long trip next week, but the Boyle County loss shook things up and Tilghman benefits as Corbin now has to.

This will be the 2nd time in 3 years Corbin is in the semi-final round and 3rd time in Coach Thompson's 4 seasons at Tilghman.

PT on the year is averaging 50.69 points a game while allowing 8.77 and Corbin averages 42.92 points and yields 15.84.

Corbin is led by superstar QB Kade Elam, who is going for 262 ypg with 38 td's to only 3 int's on the year. Corbin runs the ball to the tune of 113.8 ypg and had 28 rushing td's. Cole Stevens had over half those rushing  yards. Cam Estep, Noah Cima and Colton Creekmore are quite the trio at receiver and all are in the 800-900 yard range on the year, which is phenomenal.

Tilghman QB Jack James is throwing for 285.8 ypg and has 52 td's to 7 int's. PT runs it for 126.0 ypg and had 24 rushing td's. DJ Wilson is the leading rusher. PT had 10 receivers with over 100 yards and 6 with over 300. Jekevion Perry had the most yards while Josh Campbell had the most touchdowns.

On defense, PT had 69 tackles for loss and 16 interceptions. Corbin had 40 tackles for loss and 14 interceptions.

Corbin only has one loss on the year and that was to Frederick Douglass way back on September 20th, and as we all know, they are still alive in the 6A semi-finals.

What does each team need to do in order to secure victory in this one?

Does anyone think that Tilghman's Cottonelle® soft schedule could hurt them vs. the Redhounds?

Definitely makes you think at least. On the flip side, they look like they probably have another gear or two to go yet they haven't shown because they haven't needed to. Them not relying on any one or two players is what makes them who they are in my opinion. They can go 8 or 9 skill guys deep who can break open a game.

With that said, Corbin is legit and I'd be lying if I said they didn't scare me. I see an epic battle coming.

It definitely crosses my mind, but they practice every day against one of the best offenses and defenses in the state. Last year I stayed optimistic butI worried we was still a year away and was correct. This year I don’t have those worries and we have a defense that seems to get overshadowed by the offense that I believe could be the best in the state! As long as Tilghman comes out and plays their game they should be fine.

I'm also interested to see how the cold and most likely some wind as well will affect both teams who will be putting the ball in the air a significant amount of times. This will be the coldest game of the year to this point with gametime temperatures in the 30's and only getting colder.
