Just like it has been in KY for my entire lifetime.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't want it! No idea if I'm younger or older than you, but since the inception of 5A, there have been some years with very good regional final games. Some large upsets too. Without actually knowing, I feel like the implement of RPI hurt the regional round in recent memory.

  • Shew my heart says Pulaski but my brain says Highlands lol. I think Pulaski has a chance to keep this game close but they would have to play the best game they have played all year and Highlands would

Get there early, there is no “parking lot” and you’ll have to find a spot on a side street to park. Entrances to the stadium at both end zones.  Safe travels!!

The more premium parking is rewarded to the earlier arrivals, if you want to call it that. Taking a game in at Highlands is always nice but I never look forward to parking, especially for bigger games.

I went to that 2015 State Semi-Final game at Highlands.  It was a matinee and started about 2 pm that afternoon.  It was my first visit to Highlands and a great crowd and game.

Highlands QB Austin Hergott played well throwing for over 200 yards on the game and a TD.  RB Nick Kendall played great too with over 150 yards rushing and led the Birds with 70 yard passing too.

But Pulaski County had the memorable duo of QB Riley Hall and WR Jake Johnson who made some plays late to go ahead of Highlands and into the State Championship game.

Wish there were more matinee games scheduled.  I for one would go to more games.  I think many Highland fans went to the Newport Catholic game later that night.  I busted it down to Bowling Green to see BG play Fern Creek.  Good times!

This game, I anticipate Highlands will impose their will and win comfortably.  Pulaski has had a good season, but this is another level to me.

Highlands 42-21.

Just a Jake  Johnson memory from Highlands past!

Yep. Looks like Pulaski will host Highlands though, correct?

 Highlands will host PC.

I think Highlands has proved themselves through a tougher schedule to get here. They have seen it all and handled it well. This feels like a two score Highlands win pulling away in the third quarter. I see them playing conservatively as they can for the potential re-match on the horizon next week.

Side Note: Obviously, whatever Highlands does it is working or they would not be in the position they are in. Litmer has solidified himself at this point as more than a game manager for those that may have doubted him. I was curious when the Birds would start to run the ball more if at all. With what they have up front it is surprising they don’t T-off on teams. I believe Highlands has a unit worthy of being in the final, I just feel like we haven’t seen that aspect of their game yet in its full glory. It will most likely be needed to reach the final game. Anyone else in that head space? Were injuries a thing at some point?

What would be the rematch? I thought *if* Highlands, Cooper, BG and SW all win Highlands would host BG and Cooper would host SW?

Isn't the rating ranking like this:

Cooper

Highlands

BG

SW

No if all would win it would go like this.....The current RPI as it stands.

Highlands #7 at Cooper #1

Bowling Green #5 at South Warren #2

The Ryle loss killed Highlands. They would be more than likely the #2 with the win.

Pulaski County is definitely much improved this season. That being said, they've gotten a lot of mileage out of playing some really good teams close: Beechwood, Corbin, Madison Central, and Woodford County. They did not, however, manage to beat any of those teams.  Their best win of the season is over a 7-5 Southwestern team who also lost to every good team that they played.  I just don't see them thing in to Fort Thomas and beating the Bluebirds.  Highlands passing game is just a bad matchup for Pulaski. I do think the Maroons keep it close, but give me Highlands 35-20.

The poll is currently 77-14 Bluebirds.
