Does Wayne County have any decent size with Farmer and Dumphord gone?

There is apparently a football kid playing that is bigger than Farmer but doesn't have near the basketball experience. Like, no experience. There is also another couple kids playing that are real athletes and around the same height as Dumphord, but again, not near the basketball experience. (Possibly played middle school but not high school. Not sure on that.) Also, don't hold me to anything. If I learned anything this summer/fall, it's that things are fluid down in Wayne County.??

I agree it is a pretty wide open region but you may have missed a few transfers that will shake your order up I believe  Lincoln also lost Mason Agee to Garrard Co so that leaves them completely

  • Everybody’s gonna miss a transfer or injury or two in a preseason writeup.    Great job.

It's an interesting exercise to try to predict what's going to happen based on last year's results but I'd also point out that every now and then a team will seemingly come out of nowhere to make life difficult for the top teams.

The team I played on in high school went from 5 wins my sophomore year to 18 my junior year.  That was with the same coach but 5 new starters which included one good transfer.  We got rid of some senior malcontents with attitude problems and spent a year busting our tails learning how to play good man to man defense and it paid off.  With a region as wide open as the 12th it's possible a team that's in the middle or lower part of the preseason rankings could make some noise.

Somerset is working hard to rally players as well.  6”8 goalie, that played in ‘22 and ‘23 (starter) sat last year to focus on travel soccer would have a huge impact for Jumpers.

I remember him.  They need some help inside and he’d be a welcome addition for them.

Saw that kid at the region this year. He's a unit.

He’s for sure playing.  Easier for big guys to come back in the fold because the things they do translate (Reb. Putbacks, shot block presence).  I think it moves SHS back to a contender.

What the kid weigh? Skilled? More of a banger or athletic type?

Has grown a lot since starting center his SO. Year, and finished all district tourney team.  Mobile, and will be a really solid addition on both ends of floor.

Understand that Tre Coffman is eligible at West Jessamine.

Shooter from Trinity Christian?

I have heard Guy Turner may take the Maddox Hager route and may not play.

I heard that is was plus heard that Hager was but then heard that Brock wasn't.  We'll just have to wait and see but will be a shame if they don't play.  Take it from me, if you don't play now, you will regret it later on.

I heard that West Jessamine has a couple of kids from LCA that are pretty good. Anyone know of them and how much they’ll really add? They also have the 6’10” kid who is eligible this year, and apparently he is looking really good. In addition to 2 Trinity Christian players, including their best player.

I thought their group last year played harder than about any team you’ll see. Add a fair amount of talent and Coach Adams and they may be the sleeper in the 12th this year.

I’ve heard so many conflicting things about who is/isn’t playing. I look forward to seeing who shows up when the football season ends. Talent wise, they may be able to compete with anyone in the region OR they may be in trouble. Time will tell.

Don’t believe that is accurate. Told that  6’5 former LCA King kid left school. TCA players not on roster. Heard Caufman was ineligible and Thornton not able to play for alleged disciplinary issues. King would have helped them for sure. Caufman and Thornton not so much.
