Don’t think that will be the issue.  Murray plays around 8 DL men on rotation. Looks like Murray will have their 2 DBs back from injury this week. Also, their MLB finally played last week after being injured in preseason.  Their new player should help in the trenches as well 6’8”” 380 I’m told.

What was that kids name at MLB?

Am I reading this wrong?  A middle linebacker that is 6’8” and 380lbs.

Sounds like they got Finch from Wildcats.

Which team can beat Catholic? Or has a chance to beat Catholic? I just don't see a path for either team.

Mayfield can. Only problem is they would have to beat LCA and Beechwood in back to back weeks, once again, to even get the chance. I think all 3 of those teams are better than Mayfield but they could still beat any of them on a given night. I don’t see Murray beating any of the top 4 in 2A. They’re combined margin of victory over crittenden and Caldwell wouldn’t even constitute a running clock.

Mayfield cruises to an easy victory.

Mayfield by 2 touchdowns.

Murray can throw the heck out of the ball, and Mayfield has struggled at times in the secondary, that's the only chance Murray has in this game.

I'll be conservative and take Mayfield by 2 touchdowns, but most likely more.

A few notable pitch and catch combos Mayfield has seen this year and how they fared against the Cards:

Gregory (274/4 TDs) -> Acree (7/175/2)

James (313/3 TDs) -> (Insert stud WR here, because they run about 5-6 deep)

Maddox O'Neal (381/3 TDs) -> Cooper Falconite (9/180/2)

Robbins, Jones, and Martin don't look out of place in that company.

Calpreps says 28-21 Mayfield.

From Calpreps:

OCTOBER 20TH NOTE: Our projection system was over 85% for the weekend, picking every 11-man game nationally.  But is that even impressive?  Well, yes and no, to be honest.  We generally pick 81-82% for the season, so a couple points higher might not sound significant, but of course, the more you inch toward getting them all right, the harder those percentage increases are to attain.  Also, it's good to remember that it's easy to pick 70+% in regular-season high school football, due to the large number of mismatched games, so all of this should be taken with a grain of salt; sportswriters generally use the "eye test" to pick 70-75% of the games correctly in their area.

I know some people up North are really pulling for Murray in this game.

Murray has never beaten a good Mayfield team. I think this series is about 88-17 Mayfield's favor.

I really don't think Murray is that good so if Mayfield just barely beats Murray or even loses, what does that say about Mayfield?

I think it would say get out the roundballs and start preparing for 2025.
