Boyle County vs Paducah Tilghman. .that's the playoff game to see...must see.

Picking that game as a state final implies that one or the other beat CAL, and I just don't see it. So semifinal it is.

Note to self.... stay on the beaten path.

I'd like to see Ryle and Bryan Station play. Mainly to see if Ryle can avenge what the defenders did to them in the Regional Championship last year.

I just ran some numbers. I don't think Mayfield can get in front of Beechwood. Even if Mayfield wins out, their WP will be lower than Beechwood's. Then it will come down to OWP and OOWP. I think OWP will be close to where it is currently for both teams. OOWP = who knows? Taking a wild guess, I think Beechwood will stay in front of Mayfield.

Either Mayfield or Murray are getting a loss because they play each other. That is zero points in RPI. If Murray beats Mayfield, Beechwood should stay well in front of Mayfield. So win or lose by Mayfield in the Murray game, I think Beechwood will stay ahead of them in RPI. Just a guess because no way to calculate OOWP 3 weeks out.

Murray definitely can get in front of Beechwood. Win out and they will be #2 in RPI. Even if they lose to Mayfield, if they can beat Madisonville-North Hopkins in their final game, they might get in front of Beechwood. My guess here is Murray finishes ahead of Beechwood if they beat either Mayfield or MNH. If they beat both, definitely in front of Beechwood.

OWP you can get a little bit of a handle on this late in the year because just 2-3 games left for teams. OOWP - that is where your GIF above is spot on.

Here are matchups I would enjoy seeing:

1A - Campbellsville vs. Pikeville

2A - Beechwood vs. Mayfield (I don't care if it is home or away)

....... Owensboro Catholic vs. LCA

3A - Central vs. CAL

4A - Paducah Tilghman vs. Franklin County (having a great season under the radar)

........Winner of the above vs. Boyle County

........ Corbin vs. Johnson Central rematch (JC also very good but under the radar)

5A - Cooper vs. Highlands rematch

....... Winner above vs. Bowling Green

6A - Ryle vs. Male 

....... Trinity vs. St. X (always a classic when they meet)

 

Bowling Green/Highlands for me. 

Couple games that come to mind off the bat Boyle County and Paducah Tilghman at state and OCath and LCA.
