This is a very good matchup as Christian Academy travels to Central in a matchup of two very good teams.

Christian Academy(5-2) did not play this week.

Central(4-3) is coming off a 61 to 3 win over Elizabethtown.

I'll take Christian Academy here in a slobber knocker.

I’ll go CAL by 3 TDs.  Central is too one dimensional to pull this one out against a team like CAL.

Game of the year in Class 3A thus far. Last year Central was very competitive in the regular season game before CAL blew them out in the playoffs. I think something similar could be in store this year. I just don't believe anyone in Class 3A can beat the Centurions, but we shall see.

CAL Centurions (5-2, 3A #1) | Central Yellow Jackets (4-3, 3A #2)

? Louisville Heavyweights Fight For “Poll” Position

• The #1 ranking in 3A is on the line as Central puts the perceived intra-class invincibility of two-time reigning champion CAL to the test. The Centurions haven't lost to a 3A opponent since 2021, with an average margin of 47-8 against their classmates since. Central came close to knocking them off a year ago, losing a war of attrition. The tape from the playoff rematch may never see the light of day.
• Mr. Football implications also permeate this matchup, as Connor Hodge and Cortez Stone share the field. Hodge leads 3A in passing yards, while Stone tops the list for rushing yards per game. Cortez was “Stonewalled” in both meetings with CAL last year, running for a combined 85 yards on 3.5 per carry.
• As “Jacket weather” sets in, Central's modus operandi comes to the forefront. Establishing the run and suffocating you with a swarming defense has been the tried and true game plan for years. Aside from one hiccup against St. X, Central has otherwise played up to its defensive standard, allowing 7 ppg against everyone else this year.
• CAL's defense has had its ups and downs, albeit against a schedule that rivals Central's. If the defense that allowed 350 rushing yards to LCA shows up, Stone could run wild, but the effort that shut down Manual will increase the chances of a three-peat exponentially.

Series History ?: CAL leads 3-1 all-time

Common opponent with Manual:

Manual 20 Central 13

CAL 35 Manual 10

This game is a blowout! 40-14 Central IN THE 2Q.

Stone with three touchdown runs already and Justin Brents housed a kick-off for Central's most recent score.

Cal scored to make it 40-21. I wouldn’t be shocked To see CAL come back.

Well Central scored again. CAL taking a page out of the SK defense playbook. 48-21 Central.
