All "A" Tournament field

Only 6 private schools this year. That kind of defeats the purpose of the tournament.

I'm not sure that Coach Steidel was thinking of the privates when the All A first came to be.;)

You really don't want to go there. ONLY 37% IN THE TOURNEY ARE PRIVATE. Are 37% of the class "A" schools in the state private? This will be my last post on this. Good luck to all the schools in the Class A. You have earned the right to be there, regardless of where you are from, PUBLIC OR PRIVATE

Excellant observation funtowatch. It's about the kids, the basketball players, and the last time I looked basketball players is not defined by what kind of school they attend, whether private, public, city, county, uptown, downtown, on the mountain, or in the valley. Let the kids play and enjoy.

Heath went 2-1 at Paintsville's tournament at Christmas ... I would like to know what the fans up there thought of the Pirates.

They have the ingredients to beat UHA ... a real good guard in Andrew Baer (60 points and 12 assists in his last two games) and size up front (6-8 Max McConnell and 6-5 Seth Hart) to match up with the Blazers.

Heath was very impressive, in the games I saw. Coach Long does an excellent job, with his offensive sets and the Pirates, are very disciplined.

McConnell is an excellent post player, Baer can shoot the lights out and Hart, was injured I believe. Tough bracket but Heath is a fundamentally solid team.

The opening game of the tourney features two teams from the same county (Campbell) who draw kids from the same parochial feeder programs. The schools are less than 10 miles apart, but the teams will be driving 100 miles south to play a 9:00 am game Thurs.

At least N Ky is guarenteed to have a team playing in round two.

Brossart-NewCath will be a game worth getting up early for ...

Since you've seen both teams, perhaps more than once, how do you see the Heath-UHA matchup?

Will be live on the web via the http://www.bmustangs.com website if you care to listen in.

Hopson, Langhi and Edmonson can be an extremely difficult trio, to match-up with.

Tyshawn pushes the ball, can be a very good outside shooter and creates chances, for Scotty and Ryan. To me, he's an excellent talent. His shot is a little flat at times. Baer or Hart will have to guard him, I would imagine.

Scotty plays much harder on the offensive end, creates off the dribble from the wing and can shoot from the perimeter. Explosive first step and very athletic. Again, I see either Hart or Baer matching-up.

McConnell and Langhi, will be a position battle down low. McConnell is more refined at the post but Langhi, was very effective as well.

If Heath forces UHA to shoot from the perimeter, via a 2-3 zone or 2-1-2....plus keep the score in the 60's, they have a chance. UHA can be impatient at times and push the ball, then take bad shots.

Coach Long will have a game plan for certain, which I presume will try and control the tempo of the game....Heath will knock down their FT's late and win a close, very entertaining game. I'll say

Heath - 66

UHA - 63

Just received a phone call, couldn't hear clearly for the noise.....indicated the following score

UHA - 71

Heath - 60

Can anyone confirm...
