Interceptions, turnover on downs, bad tackling. Good wake up call type of game to get the Birds focused on the prize. If they want to play for a state championship there is a lot of fixing that needs to happen. 

Ryle is a good football team. They played tough tonight and limited their mistakes. 

As Ryle fans, we were happy to see the fake punt call in the second half and a pass play on the first play of OT. Easy to second guess failures.

To me it looked like QB issues for Highlands. I know there was a lot of hype coming into the year, but haven't seen it on the field. I see the potential is there, just need to be ready by playoff time.

I just moved back to the area so I haven't seen a ton of games but from what I've seen coaching seems to be our biggest issue. 

 

I have been very critical of Engler over the years, as I believe he has wasted talent and great teams by underachieving year in and year out.

With that being said, congratulations to Coach Engler on becoming the all time wins leader at Ryle but more importantly, as I stand here with my hat in hand as I believe this season (yes it is still very early) has been one of his best coaching jobs he has done. He has had far more talented and complete teams, yet he is finding a way to get it done. First the Colonels, now the Bluebirds.

I hope he can keep it going, and advance far into the playoffs. Cannot have another season with an early exit. Congratulations Ryle, an enemy of my enemy is my friend!
