Huge win for New England after the previous season they had. On another note, my expectations wouldn’t be high for the Bengals after today. The main issues of concern for me are:

The defense picked back up from where it left off to end last season, continuing to treat the start of the regular season as preseason isn’t helping, and Zac Taylor, which also relates to the preseason.

Next week could be very ugly.

At the end of the day this team is supposed to be led by our offense. They pay the QB top money, top 10 in NFL in Oline spending, and sooner rather than later Chase will be the top paid receiver in the NFL. This offense is supposed to lead this team now in the Burrow/Taylor era, and be able to play with a lead. The Bengals offense does the defense no favors being as bad as they were in the first half, which leads to teams being able to continue to run the ball and play with a lead.

The Bengals defense last year gave up a lot of big plays. I do think they will be better at that this year. However, to help the run defense this offense must start playing like the top 5 or 10 offense it should be and play with a lead.

Hopefully it shows better sooner instead of later after today’s overall performance. For the money being paid currently, it needs to.

Speaking of that, one of my Facebook Friends posted the following:

So…. How many years are we going to do this?  Zach Taylor tells us that reps in practice are just as good pre season play.  WRONG.
Secondary is weak.
D-line gets pushed around.
O-line gives Burrow enough time to throw 3-5 yard passes.
Arm tackles all day long.
They made Stevenson look like Earl Campbell in his prime.
They just lost to a team that won 4 games last year and lost a legendary head coach.
Finally, they were an 8 point favorite as of last night.
Embarrassing start yet again.
This is a coaching problem and a drafting problem and a free agent problem.
The Bengals should have won this game 30-10.

Or at least 18-10.

If they don’t replace Cappa it’s going to be really tough on us this year!!  Rankins had 4 sacks last year, 3 in the game against the Bengals, ALL allowed by Cappa!

Dan Orlovsky letting the Bengals have it today and he’s right on the money, nothing physical about the Bengals on either side of the ball

Burrow saying “he took what the defense gave him” isn’t good enough, can’t drive 15 plays throwing 4 yd routes, he expected more out of the Burrow and the Bengals

right on the money Dan!!

The Bengals are the most overrated team in the NFL.
