No, we are not going completely from last year's results. But we are using some of last year's results to try to do a little forecasting of the upcoming year. The reasons for that are:

1) Teams are primarily comprised of players who were on the previous year's squad.
2) Except in the case where a coach and their entire coaching staff has been fired or has otherwise departed, the same coaches and thereby many of the same coaching methods are still in place for the players mentioned in point one.
3) Complete 180° turnarounds in the course of a calendar year are very few and far between.
4) History frequently has a way of repeating itself.

So, now that I answered your question, do me a favor and answer the one question that I asked in my post that you quoted: "Especially with the likes of Cov Cath and Highlands, what's been going on in Independence in the offseason makes you think Coach Lucas and the 'Neers have closed the gap so much as for you to claim that they are capable of beating the Birds or the Colonels this year?"

CovCath game SK had a QB with his first start and RB with his first start. Pioneers have beat the birds plenty of times. Cooper has never beat SK.

I think it's pretty entertaining that only a handful of posts ago you were acting all dubious of my statement about last year's CCH/SK game by saying, "We are going by last year?" ....aaaaaand now you just turned around and referred back to last year's game instead of actually telling me what you think has taken place in the offseason with the Simon Kenton team to be able to close the gap between the Pioneer's 50-12 loss to Cov Cath and making them an actual legitimate contender to win the game this year. ??

I appreciate your effort, and no surprise at all at the response you are getting. He is the ultimate homer for all teams he roots for. Logic is not part of his opinion. I can tell you right now that in 2037 he has Simon Kenton ranked in the top teams in the state - and the same for every year before and after 2037. If SK loses 55-0 to someone, he will predict SK will beat that team next year - period.

He also has used the ha ha emoji more than every other poster combined - and don't waste your time and energy asking him to explain why.

Just take the enjoyment you can out of his posts and don't expect to understand them.
