I agreed with the post at the time.  I am big enough to admit when I'm wrong.  The progress Sheppard has made, specifically when running the point, has been very good to see.  Even when he and Wagner are on the floor together, Cal often prefers to have Sheppard at the point.  From an offensive perspective, we can be deadly when any three of our four guards are on the floor.  So much of that can be attributed to Sheppard, who has become the most versatile of our four guards, IMO.

Pretty sure last night was a career high? I wouldn’t base my evals on obvious outliers.

Sheppard has been one of the most consistent players on UK's team this year.  He had a bad game against UT which gave some haters fuel for their fire.  He is working his way (if not already) into a lottery pick.  He is head and shoulders beyond Waggener at this point, and I don't ever see him looking back.  It's the body of work at this point for Sheppard that has everyone throughout the country raving about him and his ability...that's the obvious outlier.

He still shouldn’t play ahead of Wagner? What? Wagner is a very key piece to this team. While Wagner may have been the higher recruit coming in and probably more upside if he puts it all together. Sheppard has definitely been the better college player out of the two this year, and is usually why he is in the game at the end and not Wagner. Sheppard by his play on the court has shown he deserves to play ahead of Wagner. Right now UKs best lineup is when Wagner is on the bench and Sheppard, Dillingham, and Reeves are on the floor together.

I'm aware of what I said. I would encourage you to read it again. 

Not to mention, it wasn't meant to age. It was a statement in that particular moment. Can you point out where I said that would always be the case?

While we're here... Do you take issue with everyone else's opinions on Reed in this thread, or just mine?

I don't view Reed as a true PG. I'd play him at the 2, but I'm not the coach. Thus, I would not play him at point over Wagner. 

They both should play, and there's plenty of minutes for both.

Yes...he had a bad game.  His IQ, ability to anticipate, ability to shoot are too good.  Now he is finishing at the rim and hitting pull up mid range shots.  It's all about the process.  He may have another bad game before the year is out...but I still like him leading this team.  

If he put his mind to it, I am not sure he isn't the best scorer on the team as well, but we won't know that because that's not his game.

He has led the team in rebounding the last 2 games...kid is just a winner!

No one else really attacked his athleticism, his "dog" (No killer instinct)...or insinuated the only reason folks wanted him playing was because he is a local kid).

Several people questioned whether or not he should be playing as much as he was, or that he was the answer at PG.
