Williamstown 61 Holmes 56

The Demons have won two straight over the Bulldogs in their new series.

Up next ~

Williamstown (4-1) plays at District rival Grant Co. on Thursday. Holmes (0-4) hosts Dixie on Tuesday.

Not official stat but Williamstown led by Colton Feagan with 29, Mark McCuthcin led Holmes with 23. Outstanding effort by the  Bulldogs tonight.

In what world does a tradition rich hoop school like Holmes lose to Williamstown?

It would be a combination of two things. The first being Holmes is no longer filled with talent that they had to earn the “traditional rich hoop” title, and Williamstown is more talented than years past.

I don't care if all Holmes' top players are playing for Newport. Holmes being 0-4 is mind twisting.

Very odd if not misleading comment.  I think I understand you ae trying to show how truly far Holmes has fallen but no idea what "top players are playing at Newport" have to do with anything considering that is as far from the truth as possible.

Does Newport have any kids that used to play at Holmes?

They may not have gone to Holmes High School, but they would have if they hadn't changed directions.

Don’t totally agree with this. Some of those Newport kids especially Kinney are Newport through and through. And if people haven’t been paying attention Holmes hasn’t been good for almost 10 years now, James Bolden and his crew were about the last team that compete on a regional level. This isn’t anything new, so we can stop with the post when they lose to small schools. They are now in that group, they lost many games like this within the last 5 years.

Agree with all this. It is still mind twisting that Holmes can't put a better team on the floor. Many factors playing into that. A topic for another thread.

Holmes now is a " small school " compared to what they used to have. I think they barely graduated over 100 kids recently

They won three games last year, 11 the previous year, and 5 the year before that. An 0-4 start shouldn't be a surprise based on recent history.

I understand all that. And it all is hard to believe. Every year it is hard to believe. If it is the same 10 years from now, hard to believe. And sad.

I disagree 100%
