Combination of two things:

Highlands and CovCath passion for their football teams and the fact that this week is just a strange week in Ky.  Games are meaningless, everyone knows their first round playoff opponents and the goal of everyone is to not sustain an injury that has a negative impact on your teams playoff chances.

People from Park Hills and Fort Thomas waste ZERO chance to argue about who is better, why they are better, why their team either won or lost last time, and how good their teams were during the 80's/90's and early 2000's.  Doesn't matter the sport, the venue, the circumstances, etc... 

They just don't like each other much and it makes high school sports great!

Go Birds, beat Colonels, in anything from freshman football to the floor exercise in gymnastics!
