I went back and I think I found the last Ranking post that had Highlands ranked #1 in their class. If I’m wrong let me know. Almost 9 years ago if correct.  It’s nice to see them back on top! 

If my research is correct then it means also that this is the first time ever Highlands has been ranked #1 in 5A, since they moved to 5A in 2015.

The more you know…………

Don't see anyone in 5A that can stop them. They may give up 30, but they can score 45-50.

That was a research project.

And Highlands back on top has a nice ring to it, it is about time...

Eh. Highlands won 5A in 2007,2008,2009 & 2010. And in 2009 they were Nationally ranked as high as #3. I'm thinking they were ranked #1 in 5A probably every week through that run. Maybe BGP #1 but I highly doubt that too.

I agree, don’t think there’s any argument that Highlands can’t do well in a shootout this season.

Thanks for the Fact Check @BirdDaddy....totally forgot that they were in 5A then dropped to 4A, then back to 5A in 2015.....

So my revised statement:

Since coming back to 5A in 2015, I believe this might be the first time being at the top of the Poll in 5A.  What a nice climb back to the top, NOW let's stay here and enjoy the view!!!!

1-4 may legitimately be within 7 points of each other.

I’m not as convinced about Scott County just yet. They’ve not really beat anyone good and their best opponent, Boyle County, routed them from the opening kick. That said, with remaining games against South Oldham, Woodford, and Lexington Catholic, the Cardinals will have a chance to move into the top tier of Class 5A.
