Can anyone tell me how Trinity can be two different teams from week to week?

Not sure I’ve ever seen a team be this dominate against solid competition and then play 4-5 touchdowns worse the very next week.
Makes for a very entertaining playoff picture.

Easy. They weren’t playing a very good team this week. Especially compared to the other teams they’ve been playing.

For one thing, a freshman starting at QB. Johnson was fantastic tonight but he's still a freshman.

When they establish the run and he's playing with poise they are really good.

Congrats to Coach Cobb and the Shamrocks!

A nice week when you sweep your rivals. Even better when you outscore them 130-50 in the three games.

They made St. X look very, very ordinary on offense and very, very slow on defense.

I’m a little shocked by this score. Back to the drawing board for Coach Wallace and the rest of the X staff.

Tigers coach Kevin Wallace lamented a defense that allowed Trinity to gain 509 yards of offense, including 257 on the ground.

“I’m not going to give up on our guys,” Wallace said. “I think we have some guys who can play and coaches who can coach. We have to go back to work on Monday. … If we don’t figure out how to stop people from running the ball, we’re not going to be a threat to play very long come November.”

Pretty tough to see X whipped and also clearly out classed in freshman class.  Need to make some changes in how we fill the funnel. Trinity does it better and hats off to them.
Go Tigers

Meet the face of Trinity football for the next few years. He may look 10 years old, but Zane Johnson played like a seasoned veteran last night, throwing for 250 yards and four scores in the biggest environment of his young career. Imagine where he goes from here...

Just looked at the stats on the scoreboard

Pretty wild Trinity had 262 yards rushing and 261 yards passing

Very balanced and that is something they have been missing for most of the season.

On a side note, when had St. X ever given up 262 yards rushing? Yikes! That's not a fun film for a defensive coordinator to watch.

Gave up 305 to Elder the week before.

Now that's funny right there.

Don't care who you are.
