April 3, 200719 yr Last 20 NBA champs: 11 had dominate Centers 9 didn't You are argument isn't very strong. 6 had Jordan, he didn't need no stinking center. I think Durant was the best frosh hands down. Oden is a bit behind the curve but he seems to be developing a good hook shot and I'm glad, the shots is unguardable, hope he continues to improve, I see big things out of him in the future.
April 3, 200719 yr You're acting like those teams didn't have a swingman on the team that made a big difference. Big men create open shots...... Did you notice that during the game tonight? OSU shotts wll they win.
April 3, 200719 yr You are right but not as much as you made it out to be. Lambeer and Rodman were hardly dominant. Rodman couldn't even score. And yes it was Detroit. Every great big man has a ring but Ewing. Nothing more nothing less. Oden has all the tools, seems to have the work ethic, and is a freak even on the NBA level.
April 3, 200719 yr You're devoting a lot of time to Oden developing things Durant has in spades... Except playing with his back to the basket as good as Oden does. And being HUGE like Oden (not that Durrant is small).

He SEEMS to have the work ethic? B_O_L_O_G_N_A. He showed up for the last two games. And left with nothing. Way to go Chief...
April 3, 200719 yr Except playing with his back to the basket as good as Oden does. And being HUGE like Oden (not that Durrant is small). A large part of Durant putting up 30 every 2 or 3 games was what he did with his back to the basket and using that to get to the line. It was an even bigger part of the games under 30 points when his outside shot wasn't on. You watched Oden this weekend and CRUSH very little. I get it...
April 3, 200719 yr Except playing with his back to the basket as good as Oden does. And being HUGE like Oden (not that Durrant is small). Huge is relative. In the NBA, Oden at 7-0 will not be huge at the 5, where Durant will be one of the taller 3's. Durant is 6-9 and shot 43% from three!!! He averaged 10 more points per game and 2 more rebounds per game than Oden.....
April 3, 200719 yr If you would like to make a list of impact centers who can't shoot jumpers currently playing and compare that to impact swingmen that would be my pleasure tomorrow.
