Clay Hayden should move to #1 in Kentucky in passing after that performance. 

Hayden now has 1,461 yards passing, completing 72% of his throws. He has 18 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions. Averaging 365 yards a game passing.

“I haven’t seen anybody like him in awhile in high school. Not a lot of people can make the throws that he does with pinpoint accuracy. Colleges need to get on him quick,” Volker said of his signal caller.

Halftime score was 27 to 14. The Pioneers had no quit and almost got the win.

Note for you going forward:

IMO - Brady Lee is better than Ober at QB. That game would not have been as close last night with Ober at QB so no need to bemoan the injury to your starting QB. 

Also, Turner looked very good at RB. He's your starter now and he is a good one.

On good teams, next man up. Those two are doing a great job stepping up. Credit to them and to the Pioneers program having that talent ready to seize their opportunity.

Brady Lee is the real deal. Glad to see him back in action. Hayden and Lee were basketball teammates for years on the hardwood and enjoyed a lot of success together.

123 points this year on the first team defense. Those 2022 and 2021 numbers aren’t accurate as over half those points are from jv during running clock.

Their defense sucks. Always has and always will until they change their system or coaches. Heck look at twenhofel they gave up 40 something points in 9 plays to tichenor.

Completely different QB.

As a passer - No doubt Hayden is better. He reads defenses much better, makes quick decisions and has a quicker release. This is where Hayden is top shelf. One of the best I have seen in high school in reading defenses and decision making. Arm strength and accuracy, close. Probably an edge to Hayden on accuracy and we'll call arm strength even.

As a runner - No doubt Hergott is light years better. Hergott was a better runner than passer IMO. Hayden is a pure pro style QB who runs just enough to escape pressure and find a receiver. Hergott is that dual threat QB, Lamar Jackson style. 

Good luck to Beechwood this season. I hope next year's match up is  another shootout that was fun to watch.
