Taking a step back, I do understand the logic of letting CCH decide for us.

Any idea how long he has been kicking?  A kid that can kick from 35+ in close games, consistently,  will get scholarship offers, a lot of them.

It sounded like they had plenty of other miscues on special teams and offense.   The defense needs to be able to stop the other team occasionally as well.   SK took advantage of their ability to run the ball.  Aside from that, a lot to work on.

LCA’s defense showed out against CAL, Beechwood’s showed out against Campbell County. I really don’t care about the rankings.  I’d rather lose 14-10 to Cov Cath and show life of defense than win another shoot out. Okay I lied, I’ll take any type of Cov Cath win. Fix the defense though. 

When was the last time that the Tigers had a totally new line and defense (2019) and they gave up a ton of points in back to back games (upper 40s with running clocks!!!). One of them was even a 2A they had running clocked the year before. I personally think it’s pretty darn amazing they’ve won the first four games (OH, 6A, 5A, 6A) and should (IMO) finish the regular season off with one loss. All with a light roster and a new head coach. Pretty amazing. Hats off to the team and the coaching staff.

Please do not put Campbell Co as an impressive win, ever. They may be 6A but have some standards. McNicholos is not relevant in Ohio football. An impressive regular season is not the standard. A state title is, and in late November/early December defense is needed.

I believe he is a soccer player and has not kicked a football before this season.

Not true about whole new lines. Alexander, Meier and Campbell all started last year.  But point well taken on most of the defense being new and also good point on the schedule. Strength of schedule and rankings wise, Simon Kenton is the best team Beechwood has played so getting a win over a good 6A team should boost their rankings - it's just how ugly a win it was that has people questioning the Tigers. I remember some posters wondering if the Tigers under the new coach might go 1-4 in their first five games and here they are 4-0 with wins over 2 6A schools, a 5A school and an OH D4 school. So true, give credit to a great transition so far.

true but you still have to use them as a measure (especially when they put 20 something on HHS)…and are you putting Dixie and SK in that same category? I don’t disagree w the defense (and running the ball win championships) BUT I don’t think you should give the trophy away just yet. But that’s just my opinion (that and a buck will buy you a can of Coke at a gas station).

New…meaning new…nothing has been total in either year. But I think we are saying similar things.

Yes, I also think Beechwood has a tough front loaded schedule and plenty of time to improve defensively.  If I were a Beechwood fan and the playoffs started tomorrow, I'd be concerned but not looking forward to Basketball season.  The offense seems to be well equipped, build off of that and keep getting better, they'll be fine. Regardless of what happens next week.
