The Chargers travel to the south end of Louisville on Friday to take on the PRP Panthers.  The Chargers opened up their season with a nice win over Woodford County.  The Chargers were led by RB Mikey West (JR.) who in his 1st varsity start, ran for 144 yards and 5 TDs.  The Charger offense, which had many question marks heading into this year with the loss of Mr. Football Travis Egan, was able to put up 430 yards of offense and 41 points with a complete cast of new starters at the skill positions.

The Panthers, on the other hand, traveled to Cincinnati Taft HS where they were defeated 40-18 by a Taft team that had multiple FBS P5 commits / prospects.  The Panthers are led offensively by do-it-all WR Santana Crayton (SR.) and RB Dontre Richardson (SR.).

Will the Chargers make it 2-0 this season and run their win streak to 16 or will the Panthers bounce back at home this week?

    East should take care of business but PRP always has some dudes who can get down the field.  Keep them in front of you and East should pull away.

    I know nothing of PRP other than Crayton can ball. He'll likely have his moments, but not enough of them to keep the Panthers close against a BEast squad that exceeded my expectations last week.

    PRP has some athletes and they can most certainly make things interesting in this one.  I said earlier that during the first half of the season, while the inexperienced but talented Chargers are figuring things out, they could/would be a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type.  I think BE still wins this one, but the margin will be closer than some are predicting.  I'll take the Chargers by a TD with the score something like 20-13.

    Lightning delay.  Earliest possible start is 9:00, but will probably be closer to 10.  They have also evacuated the stadium due to lightning.

    As of now, the game is still being played tonight.  Kickoff now scheduled for 10:10.
