Walton Verona will travel to play NewCath. Mot sure where NewCath plays their home games this year. Good luck to both teams.

I picked Newport Catholic but a Walton win wouldn’t surprise me. I think this will be very close.

I consider this game to be a toss-up.  Lloyd's defense last week was all over the offense line of NewCath.  NewCath will need to have a solid week of preparing their O-line to be more aggressive up front.   Overall should be a good game and come down to the final few minutes of the fourth quarter.

I think NewCath's line should hold up much better this week. They are very young on the line, but were essentially thrown to the wolves last week. Lloyd had 6 players in the top 50 for sacks last year in 2A and returned 5 of them. Walton did have 2 in the top 50 last year, but both graduated I believe.

Thursday will be the hottest day of the week depending on how well you believe the weather people. Why would they entertain that idea? Just curious.

Officials. I think I’ve heard there was a statewide shortage on officials for Friday nights.

My nephew only has two middle school games on Saturdays bc of this issue. It’s not going away anytime soon. Players acting like total idiots and not being disciplined by their coaches who act worse (assistants and HC), that only energized the fans of the team in a seriously negative way. The issue is obvious in all sports. 98% of the fans can’t differentiate the rules on Friday night from sundays, and 99% of the fans and coaches don’t know the rules like they believe they do.

Three factors make a date change unlikely:

Cov Cath is hosting Ryle in a varsity soccer match on Thursday. Short notice scheduling officials. Peak temperatures anticipated on that day.
