If you’re South Oldham, what kind of coach are you looking for to build off of what Coach Reed built? IMO, this is a good job but they’re now in a tough district with every program having a veteran coach and talent to run with it.

Coach Reed did a great job there and will be a tough one to follow!

From what I know this next year is going to be a tough one. Going above .500 would probably be a win. Very small senior class. But from what I know the class of 2025 and 26 are both extremely talented with many of them starting this past season even as freshman. It’s going to be a learning curve the first year for whoever takes over but it will only go up from there. 

Any candidates for this job? This seems like a very good job.

Coach Reed did a great job there and will be a tough one to follow!

Hard for me to imagine South Oldham not sticking with the triple option that Reed’s teams ran so well. Not to mention you probably want to slow games down in this new district. 

The Dragons have been rock solid for a decade or more under Reed. He's leaving the job in much better shape than he found it. They were 6-26 under the previous coach. 

I consider this a great job. Not quite a top tier job for 5A like the very elite of the class, but they're right there in the second wave with the potential to move up with a strong hire. Especially if he can keep SO on top in Oldham County and keep the home grown athletes in-house. If I were a coach in the Louisville metro area, this is a job I would want.

Will the coach at either Bullitt Central or North that left South, apply? Any potential candidate names?

Didn’t the top player in the 25/26 class pack up and move to Indy? I think he reclassified. His name escapes me at the moment.

Deacon King. He plays for Westfield and has an offer from Central Michigan. 

A decision is rumored to have been made. Announcement expected within the next 2 hours.

Announcement postponed until tomorrow.

I've not seen anything about it on the school's website or on social media. And things have been pretty hush-hush otherwise. 

 I apologize for the false alarm but it will officially be announced tomorrow ?. I guarantee that. If not I will come on here and spill. I’m not at Liberty to say right now but I will say it is a former staffer. Young guy with lots of energy.

Looks we made it through another day of miscommunication. I’m not sure who’s in charge of PR in this but it’s driving me crazy. Coach Cain Sams has accepted the position. Former defensive line coach at SO up until this past season where he moved to a Head Coaching position at North Bullitt. From people close to the program they are excited about this hire as it reminds them of Coach Reed when he was first hired; young guy with something to prove as a head coach and tons of football knowledge.
