I’ve wonder about this for a few years but how many KY HS football players won a state championship and then go on to play college football and win a championship there too? Ik 2 to start with my brother was starting left tackle and defensive end for the 1990 Ashland state champions and went on to play at Marshall being left tackle when they went 1-2 in 3 straight national AA championship games. He was followed to Marshall by Chris Hutt(he was a junior) who was starting tail back on the 90 team and kickoff returner before career ending knee injury on a kickoff return at a home during the 92 season when they won the schools first championship. We were all talking a few months ago and it got me wondering Ik there’s got to be bunch and no matter the numbers it’s an elite group to be in.

Sam Hubbard, played at Cincinnati Moeller. Winning state championships in 2012 and 2013. Also, played at Ohio State and was on the national championship team of 2014. Now, a member of the Bengals. Can Sam Hubbard complete the trifecta? Something a lot of us would love to see happen with the bengals. 

Frank Jacobs was a sophomore on NewCaths 1984 State Title 2A team (Runner-up 85 and 86 to Mayfield), and on Notre Dames last National championship team in 1988.

He is a NKY legend!

I believe Bernard Jackson falls into this category. He won the '97 4A state championship with St. X then I believe he was on the Tennessee National Championship team.

I would say there are quite a few GTown over the years and possibly Lindsey Wilson team that won it a few years ago.

Patrick Reynolds, Daniel Withrow, and Brian Lowder were part of the 1995 Class AAA State Champs at Bowling Green and starters for WKU during their 2002 National Championship season (FCS)

Robert Reynolds was at tosu in 02 also...first pair of brothers at different schools to win titles I believe

Steve Bird of Corbin.  1976 State Champion and 1977 State Runnerup.  1979 and 1982 NCAA National Champions at Eastern and 1980, 81 National Runners up.

In 1978 I think Steve was a Senior at Corbin.  The hounds lost to Middlesboro in the District and didn't make the playoffs that year.
