"The Rifleman" Chuck Person.  He was fined $91K, placed on 2 years probation and has to complete 200 hours of community service.

Coach K and Bill Self were both head coaches before they ended up at Kansas and Duke.

Billy Donovan turned the job down when he was at an SEC rival and didn’t need to leave because he was already winning championships where he was at. I definitely think there would be a better chance this time around if it opened up again, than there was when he was at Florida.

I think Sean Miller would do a good job. Would be interesting to see how the fanbase took to him. He has an opportunity at a top basketball program already, and failed to make any final fours. Which we know how this fan base seems to feel about falling short of even making the final four lol.

Even if Cal left, it would in all likelihood be right after the season. No way UK can wait two months plus for the NBA season to end to hire an NBA coach. There would be nothing left on the roster (see UofL), it would be a mess and Donovan is smart enough to know that.

UK hired Cal on the last day of March on the 31st.  The NBA regular season ends April 9th. The college basketball National Championship game is April 3rd. So either way UK probably is going to have to wait until April to hire a coach, since they most likely would be going for a coach that may be going on a run in the tournament. Currently the Bulls are the 11th seed in the Eastern conference, so they wouldn’t even be in the play in tournament at the moment. So unless you believe the Bulls will go on a playoff run and win a series or two. Then chances are they would still be able to make the hire in April. Then if the Bulls show they definitely aren’t making the playoffs, the hiring could probably be truly at beginning of April. 
 

So I don’t think the NBA season hurts the chances at all, unless the Bulls turn their season around.

If UK plays til April, Cal isn't going anywhere anyway...so that time line does not matter.

Well obviously if UK is in the final four playing in April, then Cal won’t be going anywhere. However, as I said last time UK didn’t even hire Cal until last day of March. So say UK does have an early exit. It wouldn’t be much different than last  waiting until early April to hire the guy they wanted. Which wouldn’t have to wait 2 months for the NBA season to end like you suggested in order to get Billy Donovan. Especially if his Bulls team doesn’t even make the playoffs. The time frame wouldn’t be that bad at all then. Plus if the Bulls don’t even make the playoffs, he possibly would be ready to make that change too. Now if the Bulls make the playoffs, then yeah probably would be a mute point then.

In full context, Gillespie was the coach until March 27th, and Calipari was hired three days later. Not as if UK waited several weeks before making a decision.

All true, but I still don't think he has any interest in coming to UK.

True! With that said acting like hiring someone in April in April just isn’t reasonable is also wrong. Considering it was basically April also when they hired Cal. To get the guy they want, having to wait until early April wouldn’t stop them IMO. Now obviously wouldn’t want to go to much longer than that. Which chances are say if somehow it was Billy Donovan that they wanted and they knew for sure he wound come this time. I don’t think waiting until April 9th would stop them.
