2023 Corbin Redhounds

Featured Replies

Corbin in 2022 was a few plays away from capuring its first title in 40 years. If you missed last years 4A finals on Kroger Field, you may have missed on of the best games of the weekend. Corbin brings back most of the team from a year ago. Being led by QB Kade Elam who passed for 2455 yards and 33 touchdown completions and rushed for 520 yards and 14 Touchdowns as the team finished 2nd in scoring in 4A at 41.3 points per game. Kade will have some help at the receiver positions being Carter Stewart who caught 53 passes for 1055 yards and 9 touchdowns. Eli Pietrowski who as a Freshman had 22 receptions for 317 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the offensive line Corbin returns All-State Left Tackle Franklin West who is just a hand full on both sides of the ball. Corbin's Defense also finished the season ranked 2nd only giving up 13.5 points per game. Corbin will also be putting the finishing touches on a new 9.5 million dollar facility that includes a Turf Field. So 2023 looks to be a very exciting time for the Redhound faithful.

Wow, a 9.5 million dollar facility, I love it!

How many more years do we think Greer continues to coach? I know there was a lot of talk in December about Haddix and Corbin.

Hearing Corbin may be getting a roster "boost" for next season.  The facility upgrades they have going on look amazing!

I had wondered this too.  I thought maybe Coach was inline to be the next Super!!!  But, I know he's hungry to get a ring, so who knows!

I Don't believe Haddix has any desire to return to Corbin.  I think that rumor was wishful thinking by a few Hounds fans.  Haddix wife was quoted in a way that certainly didn't sound like that was going to happen.

Nice!

So thus far, from other schedules that have come out across the state we can surmise these games:

Aug 11 at George Rogers Clark (Scrimmage)
Aug 19 - OPEN (Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic)
Aug 25 vs. North Hardin (Garrard County Bowl at Garrard County)
Sep 1 at Lexington Catholic
Sep 8 at Pulaski County
Sep 15 vs. Frederick Douglass
Sep 22 at Hazard
Sep 29 - OPEN
Oct 6 - OPEN
Oct 13 vs. Whitley County (District)
Oct 20 - OPEN
Oct 27 - OPEN

Two of those weeks will be occupied with district games against Letcher County Central and Perry County Central. Another week will be their bye.

Will we maybe see Johnson Central show up on the Redhounds' schedule? Or Pikeville, possibly? Southwestern?

Yep, super-senior Guy Bailey is gonna be a really nice boost for the Redhounds offense and defense, both. He led Somerset in rushing yards, touchdowns, and tackles last year.

Their former head coach is now the defensive coordinator at Dixie Heights and I have a interview with him later today. As far as Hughes goes I do not believe they will be up to the task against Corbin. I know they have Dixie Height this year too. I can see both games being of the running clock variety.

If Dixie is a running clock it is hard to imagine how bad the Corbin game will be.
