Highlands at Holy Cross on January 4th should be an outstanding basketball game and a HUGE crowd for the boys to play in front of. May have to replace the nets after that one.

Is Holy Cross supposed to be good this year? I don’t follow that closely, but they’re not usually talked a team I hear people talking about as a contender. When was the last time they won the 9th?

Well, for starters they have arguably the best player in the region in senior Jacob Meyer who is averaging 33 ppg, and with him senior Javier Ward who is averaging 20 ppg, They’ve also a 7 footer in senior Sam Gibson with a handful of other role players who are proving to be effective. They’re definitely top 5 in the region, and can score the ball very well. They may not be at the very top of the region, but they are competitive enough to hold their own with every top team in the region. As far as when they last won the 9th I cannot say. An Indians faithful out there might be able to help with that one.

I have nothing to report about the home schoolers they played tonight. How is that even a team and why does Highlands have them on the schedule?

I can say with certainty that Coach Listerman is currently on the phone cancelling games with anyone left on the schedule with a losing record.  He is ONLY calling teams with winning records.

I will update when I can confirm any changes.

They played that team in the Holiday Classic as well last year. Listerman or Caldwell probably has a connection with their coach or AD.

A coach in the program’s brother is their head coach.

Well Boyle Co. is coming up today to play.  They are 3-3 but the 3 loses was without the football players.  With those guys they are forcing over 20 TO a game and playing some really good D.
