Raceland has rally responded well after the fumble and Pikeville touchdown. If they come out and get a score to start the 2nd half will go along way for them.

About of good of a half you could ask for if a Pikeville backer.

Raceland almost has to score a TD on their first drive of the 2nd half.

If Raceland doesn't score quickly in the 3rd, this one is over!

That is a killer for Raceland you can't let that happen. That will be hard to come back from now theyreally need to score 7 when they get the ball to start the half.

How many times in state title history can anyone remember starting game off with TD and ending half with a TD?

The first half was a half of big plays.  Pikeville has scored on a breakaway, a fumble at midfield scoop and score untouched and a mini hail Mary, as theguru put it.   

Other than those three plays, both offenses have be pressed hard and had trouble move the ball and doing what they normally do.  Both defenses have been able to cause trouble for the opposing offense.  

For Raceland to get back in the game, they will have to find a way for the offense to get some consistency.  They came close on their last drive of the first half until it stalled in Pikeville territory.  

I think if Pikeville needs to score again, they would be more successful on offense by faking to Birchfield and someone else running the ball, or a play-action with Birchfield and throwing to Hensley.  Using Birchfield at bait basically.  That would be the better game plan to me.  If they don't need to score, I would say keep giving it to Birchfield and let him grind the clock with three and four yard gains and possible busting one wouldn't be a bad thing either.
