Cortez Stone is a DUDE. He will have to be just that for the Yellowjackets to win on Friday. Should be a good one. I’ll take take the Yellowjackets to win 20-14.

And, that folks is why Time of Possession is the most useless statistic in football.  Means nothing, other than something to talk about. 

I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with Stone.  He is a player and a game changer.  Plus, the rest of Central's team passes the look test.  But, it's always hard to pick against Boyle County, especially at home. Should be a heck of a game.

That worries me more than him rushing.

Boyle County is 4 - 2 all-time vs Central.  This will be the 2nd time the teams have met in the State semifinals, with Boyle winning 31-14 in 2019.  Boyle won in the State quarterfinals in 2001 and 2004 and the 2nd round in 2005.  Central won 2nd round matchups in 2015 and 2016..  The 2004 game was a classic with Boyle winning 54 - 43.

This is Boyle County’s 16th appearance in the state semifinals.  The Rebels are 12 - 3. The three losses were to Breathitt County in 1996, Bell County in 2008 , and Corbin in 2018.  2022 makes the 6th straight year for the Rebels, beating Elizabethtown in 2017, losing to Corbin in 2018, and beating Central in 2019, Hopkinsville in 2020 and Logan County in 2021.

Got to keep posting this each week as it been working.  Not that I superstitious or anything.   ?

Cal preps has it as 31-22 Boyle with at a 73% chance of winning.

I think for teams that are severely outmatched, dominating T.O.P can be a path to an upset by shortening the game and reducing the number of possessions. But for anything close to evenly matched teams, you are exactly right.

I think shorting the game is a fallacy.  Now, reducing the number of passions, or the number of useful possessions, is a valid argument.  I would consider those as:   turnovers, onside kicks or turnover on downs.  But, the TOP is a non-factor.  Point of  infancies:  if one team takes 20 player and 9 minutes to score, that means nothing if the other team scores in 2 plays and 27 seconds.  It rests solely on the type of offense a teams runs. Now, take-a-ways, that changes the game.

I'm surprised to see that many points projected. Both teams have a great defense and can match each other's speed and size.
