Michael Bush off to the NFL

Featured Replies

If you have more names than 2 as your star running back well you really don't have that good a back honestly. Is Super Mario gone also?

Obviously having three running backs wasn't a problem this year, it got the Cards to a 12-1 record and a BCS Bowl win....

Congrats to Mike Bush. I wish him well in the draft and NFL. I hope he can fully rehab to the point he is 100% and has all his speed back. I consider myself lucky to have seen him play at the HS (football and basketball) and College level. He is a special player that will not be matched. Good Luck and come back and see us sometime........

I think its a good decision. The injury will heal, and he is draft-worthy. The bar in this area was set by Willis McGahee and Antonio Cromartie, both of whom have done well. Bush will be a first-day, second round draft pick, much like Lendale White. The Falcons don't need him, I don't think Petrino will take him. I think he would be an interesting pick by the Philadelphia Eagles.

I don't know what more Bush could "work on" in college. He has given sacraficially to the program and raised the bar for their performance. I have met him and he is a first-class individual. His family (unlike Brohm's) needs the money, and I am sure this decision would not have been made if he had not already been told that he was a strong first-day draft choice.

The little UK barbs in this thread are reprehensible and should be taken elsewhere.

Kudos Michael, run over them folks in the NFL!

But win or lose 2 is a Card.:sssh:

He was jumping off the Wagon yesterday and RP brought him back:D

Im glad that one of my posts is your reason for existence on BGP...Makes one feel good. :D

And BTW, is my comment about several players leaving so foolish now, after Simms decides not to come and Bush leaves?? :sssh: :sssh:

You said they are falling apart.

Now that he's gone and you can stop egging him out the door-

Do UK fans really think he made the right decision?

Bush apparently feels that he might go 3rd round if he can't run by March for individual workouts, etc.

I do. If you're going to get drafted, which he will, I can't fault the decision. He could have returned and boosted his stock, but he also could have gotten injured again and really jeopardize his career.

In this case, he will assure to at least get a payday, and if he stays healthy and plays well (which I expect him to do), the big payoff won't be too far away. That's just my take.

If he falls to the third round, some NFL team is going to get a major steal. Are you listening Jeff Fisher? :D

Try again...I said Brohm, Bush, and Harry D. would leave, and Im 1-1 right now...Next...

And for the record, NOTHING will ever make me jump the Louisville Bandwagon. Things may upset/disappoint me, but I am a Card FOR LIFE...Believe that...

Unless of course they change their colors to blue and white. :D

You said they are falling apart.

Wrong again...

I would love to see the Bengals draft him.

I would love to see the Bengals draft him.

Man, Im a Steelers fan, but I might have to say WHO DEY every once in a while if Mike goes there...

Sorry Jim Schue...

But don't you see where we are coming from? This past year all we heard was "This is UK's year," and "UK is closing the gap," and "Micah Johnson is going to put it on UL.".....

They lost by 31 points...

You have to see why were are skeptikal, ESPECIALLY when the game isnt for almost 8 months.

You didn't hear it from me, but I suppose I can understand.

Likewise, you should be able to see where I'm coming from. Considering that U of L is a different team on the road...see 31-24 two years ago at Commonwealth when they were a far superior team...Petrino is gone and any way you slice it, that is a negative for the Cardinals...Bush is gone, Brohm will likely leave, which is again a negative for the Cards.

Again, not saying UK will win, just that they have a realistic chance which they haven't for the last two or three years, especially considering that they were inches away from tying the game against them at Commonwealth two years ago, when they really weren't supposed to have a chance. The changes at U of L, along with the momentum UK developed this season, makes this a much more interesting game than in the past.

Did Douglas announce he was staying? I hadn't heard anything about him. Or was it Brohm? All I've heard for sure is that Bush is gone.

These Cards are used to adversity and proved this year they were not a 1 or 2 man team. Truth be known the talent cupboard has never been fuller.

I understand, and agree with your point. :thumb:

Im pretty sure that Harry said he was 100% coming back...
