January 9, 200719 yr Should have been 41-7, the Ginn return should have been called back. I'm so glad UF won, nobody gave UF a shot and they were the only team to show up tonight. Woulda, coulda, shouda!!! Calls or lack thereof are part of the game. If you want to brng up calls, why not be civil & mention the Fla.TD which clearly showed the RB knees down before the ball crossed? There were a few others but it's apples and oranges. The simple fact is that Florida kicked their rear ends in every phase of the game and deserved the win.
January 9, 200719 yr I am a buckeye fan I felt that OSU would win easily, I was wrong. OSU was dominated, I think that the defensive game plan they had was awful and that thier offense looked even worse, Troy Smith did not help things either. Oh well I guess we got next year. Congrats to the gators.
January 9, 200719 yr Congrats Chris....I have ALWAYS rooted for you. Didn't we have a discussion last week where you told me his mistakes would be the reason for Florida losing? Is that rooting for him? As I said last week, Leak would be the difference -- he was great. Troy Smith just went from 2nd round pick to undrafted free agent...congratulations.
January 9, 200719 yr Really, when you sat back and looked at it, this one was so easy to see coming. While I thought it would be closer, I never wavered in my thinking that Florida was going to win this game. I was in a Bowl Contest with 20 guys from work, was the only one that took Florida, and was called everything but Honey since we turned those in. Ahh, he who laughs last... 1. Florida 2. LSU 3. USC 4. Ohio St. 5. Boise St. 6. Louisville
January 9, 200719 yr It seems that all of those calling for a rematch from the two best teams in the nation who happened to be in the same conference was right..............Florida and LSU. It seems it might have been the Overrated State University that didn't deserve to be in the national championship.

January 9, 200719 yr Congrats to the Gators for a stellar performance, and for being much better prepared. I think they were sick of hearing how they didn't belong, and wanted it a whole lot more than OSU. Ginn's absence meant absolutely nothing to this game. The layoff may have hurt, but UF had a long layoff as well. Bittersweet night for me, being an OSU fan first, and SEC fan second. I would like to hear from all the UM fans, and others who said that UF did not belong in the game, and that they would get killed. I stated earlier that I would have much rather OSU played UM again than UF. Congrats to fellow Sigma Chi, Urban Meyer.
January 9, 200719 yr The Big 10 is a Big Joke. I hate to be one of these posters to run my mouth after a big win but Im just tired of everyone giving the SEC the shaft. In the South Eastern Conference you play a higher level of competition. And thats why Florida won tonight, they were battle tested, and stronger for that. This just makes me wonder what Auburn would have done a couple of years ago but I guess we will never know. Florida - 41 Ohio State - 14 Difference - 27 Florida - 26 Kentucky - 7 Difference - 19 .......... Hum, Yoter
January 9, 200719 yr Got to tip your cap to Chris Leak. Gator fans were critical of him and many of their fans had a "Man-Crush" on Tebow. Heck, they were booing Leak when they played UK this year on ESPN. Pressure Leak and he threw out of bounds or in the stands. I question why OSU did not apply more pressure?
January 9, 200719 yr One of the things this shows that besides Boise State, this championship WAS decided on the field. USC was in this game and had to win ON THE FIELD against UCLA and could not. They lost their chance ON THE FIELD. Ohio State had a shot and lost ON THE FIELD. Michigan had a chance in playing OSU and lost ON THE FIELD as well as the big loss to USC ON THE FIELD. LSU lost ON THE FIELD to Florida. For those of you who think well we didn't see USC and Florida play it out, we might not have seen that in a playoff either. I like the point that was made on the radio this morning that those who tout the men's basketball as the model, this year's tournament showed that it is NOT about the best teams but about matchups and who is hot. Example, George Mason. I feel confident that they did not finish the season as one of the top 4 teams in the country but were there in the Final 4 because they had good matchups for their style and was hot at the right time of the year.
January 9, 200719 yr BCS got this one right. Prior to the game, NO ONE said that OSU did not belong in it, all the focus was on UF being there. UF took care of business, and won the NC. The BCS worked this year, period.
January 9, 200719 yr Pressure Leak and he threw out of bounds or in the stands. I question why OSU did not apply more pressure? Maybe because he completed 3-1 thrown out of bounds. I give a little credit to the UF O-line as well.
