Can't speak for being outcoached but there is definitely an experience gap between the two head coaches - Wolfe has been around forever while Kendrick is in his first year. I remember you saying last year that Bullitt East just needed to try and stay on the field against Male, which to an extent they did. A year later, and perhaps with a down Male club, how much closer is the gap?

That’s the million dollar question that will be answered Friday night.

All the talk and all the stats are fun for us to talk about and look at. The winner will obviously be determined between the lines. BE has a real chance of winning this game. They will need to play with confidence, limit mistakes, force a turnover or two and do what they do on offense. The crowd will be packed and electric in bringing extra energy to the team. A game I am looking forward to seeing. Good Luck Chargers!!!

Bullitt East has a really good front 4 on defense.  They must play a very good game.  Oline has to give Egan a chance to see the field.  Gauthier has to have a good game and get some yards after contact.  I'm nervous for Friday but this is what makes the games fun.

They have a pretty young staff that is for sure.  Experience definitely in favor of Male as far as the coaches and the players.  At some point a program has to take a big step.  I'm hoping that this Friday is that BIG step for the Chargers.

Calpreps has it Male 35-19. I'm not sure that it will be that high scoring of game.

Basically the negatives that come with playing tight. Bullitt East can't come out tight against Male. They need to play with the self assuredness of a team that expects to win. Easier said than done against a team that's boat raced you every time you've played them. 

This usually goes without saying, but it's especially important here... The first few possessions can make or brake the game for the underdog. Falling behind early can tighten you up if there are mistakes involved - busted coverage, trying to force a throw that gets picked, a muffed punt, etc. Then you're pressing, which can trigger a snowball effect for turnovers and unforced errors.

One thing the Chargers have going for them that leans in their favor, is experience at key positions. Some of those kids have played a lot of ball together. If the going gets tough, they've got a solid foundation of senior leadership to hold it together.

I truly believe this will come down to the Male offense vs the BE defense.  Can the BE secondary hold up to Male’s receiving unit, especially if Gainey is back?  They’re improved, but they’ll need help from the BE front 4 to put pressure on Smith & Cobler.  I love it!  Can’t wait for this!  Regardless of outcome, these young men at BE have energized the Mt. Washington community in a way not seen for over a decade.  Expecting a record crowd tonight, which is saying something.

I just chatted with someone at the game, everyone is fired up and I love it.

Any confirmation yet on the status of Swinney and Gainey? Their availability, or lack thereof, could swing this game in either direction.

Gainey is dressed & appears to be playing.  Have not seen Swinney.

My head's telling me Male, and rightfully so after the recent history between these two. But I'm feeling BE tonight. Maybe it's the deviation from the status quo established by the "Big 3". Or maybe it's just indigestion. Either way, I'm hitching my wagon to the Chargers. Why not Bullitt East? They've got the horses.
