Final per the update thread.

 

Tigers were down 10-7 at halftime but outscore Manual 14-0 in 2nd half to get the win. Tiger defense held the Crimsons to a field goal. Manual scored off forcing fumble that was scooped up and scored in 1st quarter. Big win for the Tigers!

There was a coach on Manual staff, in press box on X side, that needs to understand taunting and cheering for your team after big play is not terribly appropriate. Glad to see the X offense look much better in second half and take advantage of what Manual was giving.

St. X had two turnovers. Other than Manual scoop and score St. X fumbled on 2 yd line costing them score. Also too many false starts. St. X defense is good enough just need offense to be turnover free. If I'm counting right, St. X offense has given up 3 touchdowns with two pick sixes and todays fumble. I thought St. X freshman WR Marlon Harbin played well catching several balls. QB Havill made some good throws and QB Boone had some good runs. Running Backs Davis Yates and Michael Curry played well.

While I do think X got 2 favorable calls that helped them, that doesn't negate the fact their defense played a terrific game.  I thought X DE Micah Carter was really good tonight.  He was so active and making plays across the field.  He was actually running with Manual RB Washburn down the field, which was really impressive.  Wasn't ultra impressed with the X offense at all.  But I think the Freshman WR Harbin is a real talent.  The X OLine to me isn't as good as in past years although still good.  The X offense still makes them vunerable this year.  

2 things I'm looking forward to:  BG at X and Manual at Male!

Congrats St X on the win and also congrats to Manual as I thought they competed hard, just not enough offense to supplement the great effort from RB Washburn.

Defenses so good that no one else in 6A can score on them.

Right, St. X has PRP and Butler coming up so the offense going to look great. Lol.

St. X plays Butler next at Butler. Game will be over in 1st quarter.

3rd game in a row where St. X defense hasn't given up a TD. Starting defense has given up 4 touchdowns all season and 3 of those were to Elder (OH) and 1 to Owensboro.

Makes me believe special teams and fluke plays could play a major role in who gets eliminated in November. Could be a very exciting 6A playoff this season.

Washburn for Manual is a stud. Quick, strong and great feet. It will be fun watching him develope in the future.
