Thanks, but I find that answer interesting. You have seen Southwestern. I believe you said you have seen Beechwood. I thought you would have some insight for us on how those two compare.

I didn't watch Southwestern game just the first half of the stream.

If so, brutal blow for the Pioneers at a terrible time. Lot of pressure on a freshman QB. Is there no option at #2 QB in the SK sophomore, junior or senior class?

 

 

I was thinking the same thing but maybe the Freshman is the best option as it was for Beechwood. I would think that a 6A program would be 3 or 4 deep at QB. I remember Kyle Fieger had to step in as a Freshman at BW in the state playoffs. There were probably better options but he was best suited to lead the team to victory.

OK. I thought you were at the game. Should be fun on Friday night. Simon Kenton will be Beechwood's toughest opponent so far. It will be a good test, especially Simon Kenton's size up front. 

As a Beechwood fan, I think the defense and defensive line will be fine. Beechwood has good size and depth there. I am most interested in seeing how Beechwood's offensive line handles the Simon Kenton size.

It is really difficult for any high school program to be 3 or 4 deep at QB. QB's are almost always one of your best athletes. If they are not starting at QB, you find another place for them to play. I also am seeing more and more schools going to young QB's to develop them over their 3 years or more of varsity play. 

Simon Kenton has a week to put together a game plan and get their QB options reps in practice.

Xavier Campbell can move too. Last week he chased down a QB from behind and knocked the ball out of his hand to force a fumble. The QB sure did not expect a big d-lineman to outrun him.

Just because he's older, stronger, more experience and better player and the QB he's chasing down was a Soph. Not a knock on him just stating the facts

Here is a pretty interesting "fact"....even if he didn't take advantage of the repeat year ... Campbell would be a senior. So in this case anyway ... That may be a relevant "fact" next year ... It certainly isn't this season since he would still be playing anyway.

Whether it was or was not a shot ... Only you know that for sure. From the outside looking in ... It certainly implies something isn't on the up and up or something isn't fair ... Good grief.

Each school district was allowed to make their own decision on the repeat year. At the end of the day ...people who still bring this up ... Lets just say it sounds like some people use this as a ready made excuse ... And to bring players names into this discussion in this manner ... Hmmm

A huge game but nothing new for the 6'0 166 pound Pioneers Freshman qb. Tucker Ober has been playing qb since he was 5 years old and pretty much playing up every season. He was qb on a South Kenton team that won back to back superbowls. Last year was his first time playing on a team with his own grade and they won the big school championship at Twenhofel. I think he will do just fine at qb. Pioneers 35 Beechwood 34.

I will be shocked anyone can score 35 on Beechwood. It could happen but their defense is very very good.
