He had an address change, CCH deemed him Athletically motivated and he got ruled ineligible. Our hearing isn’t until 9/12.

So petty. And I’m guessing this is the AD making this call and not Eviston.

From what I am hearing there was a giant rumpus in the stands in the 3rd quarter. Hopefully no one was injured too badly. Either way…Dixie with a win that was expected. 13-12 had to be a struggle all night.

Rumpuses are never good. Any idea who was involved? Heard it was chippy all night between the two fanbases.

CovCath won't let him leave but have no problem with letting Ohio kids play for them.

Had a coach tell me before the Mason County scrimmage they had upwards of 100 plus come out this summer. Youth program is back in place, Turkeyfoot has good numbers, and a new head coach/staff, so they have had a buzz out there. Should be able to field a legit freshman squad now without placing lesser athletically inclined sophomores to fill holes.

The address of the player wouldn't be an issue in this circumstance. So the one year rule would make more sense if you are correct there isn't anything in motion to prevent the kid from suiting up.

Peighton Finck played 2 varsity games at Cov Cath in 2021, per the KHSAA stats. Looks like the last time he was in was against Boone County on October 1st. He was playing middle school football at Turkeyfoot prior to starting at CCH, so it would seem that he was at least living in Dixie school district territory immediatelt prior to his time at CCH. I don't know where he may or may not have lived in the last three years, but still, seems to me he more than likely won't be eligible to play at Dixie until October 1st.

From talking with Burke in the offseason, they had a little over 90 in their offseason program.  Someone said they have just over 80 now.  

Dixie Youth has their largest numbers since coming back in 2019.  Numbers are slightly down with Juniors, but Midget, Starters, and Flag are way up.  

Turkeyfoot has around 60 kids between their 7th and 8th grade teams, so they're seeing improved numbers.  The kids love playing for Sekowski and his crew.

I think they're probably a year off from fielding a true freshman team again.  I know Burke was short an assistant or two prior to the season, but he didn't want to hire just anyone to fill the roles.  He would rather be slightly short-handed than risk impacting the culture he is trying to build.  

And as a side note, those red jerseys are hopefully just temporary.  Replacement jerseys weren't ordered last year, and by the time they were, they wouldn't be ready for the home opener so they had to scramble and get whatever they could in time.
