Any word from our resident Cards on how things are going out on the Purchase? Obviously more challenges to face this year than just replacing a key position here or there.

Everything will be fine. I am expecting an undefeated regular season or one lose.

If there was ever a season for a Paducah Tilghman victory its this year with all of the facility improvements at PT.

I think this is the same schedule Mayfield has had for a couple years.  Great for RPI with higher class schools on the schedule. I imagine PT has had this game circled for a couple seasons.  Their standout junior class is talented and they are followed by several really good classes.  Although, Big Red always seems to have an answer at the right time. Game is at War Memorial and I think that is a factor. Only other game on their schedule that could give them issues is Murray but they have to answer many questions between now and then. 10-0, 9-1 seems about right.

We will be better than last year"s team with the potential to be much better. I know that fans can be overly optimistic about their team in the preseason, but I'm just calling it like I see it. Our linebacking corps will be stellar, our receivers are seasoned and speedy, we have a running back that is a beast...how many teams have a kid who wins the 100 meter race and then runs over to compete in the shot put?...very few. I agree that our chances of going undefeated in the regular season are very good.

Finally, the Mayfield Football Fans are waking up after last season not winning a State Championship.

Unless the Cards are playing Beechwood I am on the bandwagon so all of that is good to hear, thank you.

PT will be good but Mayfield will be better. Starks is going to be a beast. He might be the best running back since Jonathan Jackson and he's only a Junior. The line will be the key this season. Mayfield will have a plethora of skill players but could be short of good quality linemen but we shall see.

Wow, snake played the Jonathan Jackson Card, that is a high bar to achieve!

Defensively he's not even close to his class but as a running back, he has muscled up and is big and fast. He will be a load. I might not should have played the Jonathan Jackson card but I think he's going to be a difference maker.

If I’m not mistaken didn’t Mayfield lose 3 starting WR’s? Coles, Gloyd, & #22? The Starks kid is going to be a really, really, good back and I like the QB a lot. But I don’t think I’ll call their WR’s seasoned at all losing the 3 starters because Coles was a really good one too.

Mayfield always reloads so I don’t doubt they have guys coming up that will make plays.

Is the Starks kin to the Starks that came over to Lone Oak and played running back he was really good.

JT, not sure about the relations between the Starks…but it would not surprise me if they are. Stephensen (sp?) is back, but Gloyd and Coles are gone. Gavin Jackson is also back and he had a huge year for us.. So we are a little more seasoned than you think.
