Survivor 42

Maryanne has come so far. I would have voted her out early because she got on my nerves with chatter.  Then she got “cute and likable”. Then she is no longer an airhead. Then she showed depth in her character. Then strategic. I’m now Maryanne all the way. Worried about fire!!

Good episode.  Though I hate to see the good players go out at this point.  Lesson of the night - be careful who you share information with - especially when there is no gain in sharing it.

Amen to that. Keep your advantages to yourself. Drea should have just played "let's blindside Mike" to line up votes then snagged the idol from Mike without telling anyone her advantage.

Without getting too deep, even though I probably will, I loved tonight. My dad and I share Survivor on the level that we share UK bball. We taped every episode on VHS when they aired it during my

A wild tidbit:

Probably in large part because the players can't keep a secret. When everyone knows who has the idols it is easy to vote around them.

Massive immunity win for Mike.  Happy for him.

Not that I'm siding with Jonathan, but I don't understand how people (Lindsay) get made when they aren't "in the know" on a vote, when they voted for people that kept them out of the know (Jonathan).

Man...how wild would it have been if Maryanne stood up and played her idol that no one knew about on Lindsay.  Probably smart not too but that would have been nuts.

She is playing to win and leaving her heart on the sleeve.  I still think if Maryanne goes to final 3 she wins.  Mike is #2 and Jonathan #3.

If Maryanne, who has been terrible at challenges, pulls this one off...then its over.

Maryanne is going to do so well pleading her case with the Jury.  She's got this in the bag.

I'd like to see Mike win this fire challenge and take her on to make it interesting.

I hate that Romeo is in the Final 3 but at least he earned it vs being dragged there.

I can't imagine the amount of stress I'd feel going into that fire challenge.

Feels kind of refreshing how much this group has fun and enjoys each other, at least on the surface, compared to Season 41.

Great season. I am shocked Mike got just one vote. Ability to plead your case to the jury may be the most valuable skill needed to win Survivor.

"Outwit, Outplay, Outlast"

I have watched every Survivor season. As I think about Mike's play this season, it ranks as one of the best played seasons ever for me. He was very gracious in losing. Personally I think he got hung by the jury because he couldn't explain how he played with honesty and integrity.  I think if you have played the game like Mike did and get asked about honesty and integrity by the jury, you have to say something like ..... "there is a difference between honesty and integrity in the game of survivor versus honesty and integrity outside the game. I played with as much honesty and integrity as I could while trying to win the game. There were times I made misleading statements but I did my best to avoid lying, as best you can while trying to win."
