The Ole Miss Rebels come to Lexington to take on the Wildcats on Tuesday at 7:00pm on ESPN. This should be a win for the Cats and get back on track before another tough road trip to end the season on Saturday at Florida.

Cats 83

Rebels 69

Senior Day for the Cats.  Mintz and Grady will be recognized.

As I've said a few times, I'd like to see a comfortable win against an inferior opponent. These midweek games have been a little dicey all season.

Kentucky 84-68.

Which games are you referring too? Besides the home game against Vandy, where they only won by 7. Which inferior opponent should they have beaten by more and ever really felt even a little bit in doubt? They honestly have had very few games since January where they have played a team that should be a cake walk.

Now tonight’s game, especially at home should be a game that they hopefully win comfortably.

Mississippi State at home in overtime when Kentucky was up double digits in the second half.

I'd add in the road wins at Texas A&M and South Carolina. Winning on the road is tough but I thought Kentucky could (should?) have taken care of business a little more effectively in those two games.

Having said all of that, I'll repeat the Calipari mantra that they aren't robots. Winning games is tough. It just seems like the focus has been better on the weekends than midweek. Of course the name-brand opponents on the weekend have probably helped that.

RE: road wins. In gambling you generally hear about how home field advantage counts for about three points. In college basketball I am convinced it accounts for 12 points. Players and refs in college hoops are highly impacted by the crowds.

I would not count any road wins in conference play as games that weren’t good enough. If you win on the road in conference no matter who it is, then you did a good job that day.

I do agree with you on the Mississippi State home game. I didn’t realize how fall they have fallen off. I thought they were still a bubble team for the tournament, I didn’t realize they were only 500 in SEC play with just one road win.

Cats lead 24-18 at the under 12 timeout. The Cats defense looking a little flat early here and have been out hustled for a few offensive rebounds by the Rebels.
