USC 32 Michigan 18

Featured Replies

Michigan was a disappointment. They nearly always seem to position themselves for a sleeper performance in the Rose Bowl. UM had a good year but fell short of expectations. Performance in Rose Bowl was pretty lame. Maybe next year will be their year..... No sleep lost here...!

Despite his abundance of talent, Jarrett is a punk.

Agreed.:irked:

Didn't mind the late hit call on Barringer on the TD. It was late. But the pointing and taunting doesn't get called?

They might have been the best team in the Big10, but they didn't play tOSU so we'll never know. ;)

Well we know they weren't better than Michigan, so we can say with certainty that they weren't the best. Tied for the best is the best they could possibly do(I highly doubt it, but I'll humor your reply). My point was that while UM did falter against USC(badly I might add), those SEC arguments about SOS have egg all over their face right now, especially the "quality" wins argument.

Michigan got it handed to them. The sad thing is that a number of people wanted an all Big Ten re-match title game. If that had happened we would never have known that the Big Ten isn't so great after all. If UF hangs with or maybe beats the Buckeyes the true story will be known.

Now I expect better than this from you......

Do you just not like the Maize and Blue? If UF gets drilled do we then know that the Big 10 really is that good? What we do know at this point is that USC was probably the best opponent for OSU, but choked off their chances. Seeing as the win that vaulted the gators into the title game is severly tarnished now that the #3 team in the Big Ten won today, I'd say you have to concede that at least the top of the Big 10 IS that good(or the top of the SEC is that bad, however you want it). And I have to agree that even this doesn't begin to tell the true story. What about Boise St.? Are they not part of the "true story"?

Who can now make a credible argument that the wrong teams are playing in the NC game? (And don't tell me undefeated Boise State because it took all they had to beat a mistake-prone 2 loss Oklahoma team).

The last BCS ranking is the only one that truly matters...

And if Florida gets drilled, what then? Should USC have been in the title game with 2 losses? Or Boise St.? If you want credible, I'll say that UF was behind UM before the final vote and a win over Arkansas. Apparently Arkansas wasn't all it was cracked up to be, getting beat(and looking sloppy.....recurring pattern......recurring pattern........doing it) by Wisconsin. So what has the BCS story told us? That UM shouldn't be in? That UF maybe isn't the answer either? That USC is probably better than both of those teams but choked?

And the last of my ridiculous string of posts. I don't think UM has been in too many "sleeper" roles in the Rose Bowl. The last 2 opponents they had went on to win the national championship the following year. Who knows if USC will make it a third next year?

Sounds like this is a great place for the new catch phrase I've been working in. No need for facts when you can have an opinion... ;)

Not the whole story. UF did not control who won the SEC West, and who they faced in the SEC Championship. Don't forget that UF did also beat LSU. Most agree that LSU is the 2nd best SEC team, LSU beat Arkansas at Arkansas by a bigger margin than Wisconsin did (on a neutral field). Look at LSU's road schedule, you'll see it was pretty brutal, (AT #3 Auburn, AT #5 Florida, AT #8 Tennessee, AT #5 Arkansas).

This has nothing to do with this thread but many people keep talking about it.

For the record Arkansas and Wisconsin are decent football teams at best. To be honest they both looked pretty sorry.

Florida and Ohio State will look NOTHING like those two did.

Florida looked awful sloppy several times this year. That's not a very strong branch to walk on...

Florida on a sloppy day could have beaten those two in the terd bowl that Wisconsin and Arkansas played in.

Arkansas can't throw a ten yard out for the life of them and I thought Wisconsins offense must have thought it to be illegal to get over 170 yards offense in a game so they just decided to punt after their 3 in out almost every series.

That game was the flop of the bowls so far if you ask me.

Radier - sounds as if you are a UM fan as well. How can Michigan fan be pleased with the 07 Rose bowl performance?? UM had a very, very good team. I just can be super happy about the Rose Bowl showing with respect to execution on Offense or Defense. I cant imagine the UM coaching staff being real "happy" today.....

Barringer is a bigger punk than Jarrett.

Did I hear it correctly on ESPN that Wisconsin had negative rushing yards?

OR22... I've read "If Florida gets drilled" about a million times from you. Why don't we talk about it if it happens...
