Washington has a big win over a good team - LSU by 16...UK doesn't have a win over a good team. That's what's keeping them out.

 

...and please don't call Louisville, Indiana or UMass a good team...

I could care less about polls because I do not think they mean anything, but the bigger gripe is because of who the losses were to instead of who the wins were against.

Good losses don't get you a good ranking. Good wins do.

Wins aren't enough anymore. You have to beat people by 20 and 30 points every night if you want to enter the rankings and stay.

This doesn't bother me at all.

 

If anything, it may help a young and unproven Kentucky team remain focused and continue working hard. The end of the year is what matters - and even then, rankings are pointless.

What kills me is how Seth Davis get to vote in this. You know UK isn't going to make his top 25. What a sandbagger!!!

 

At least Vitale threw UK into his top 25.

I never thought I'd see a year where UK baseball, women's basketball, and maybe even football where ranked in the top 25 and men's basketball was not - at least for now. I think we'll be right up there in another few weeks.

Just checked the Sagarin rankings for the first time this season.. It does have UK in the top 25, coming in at 22nd this week. These polls usually start getting accurate around mid-season, after conference play starts.

Good ol' Jerry Tipton has UK ranked 18th. :lol:

UK and Duke are in the wrong places...no worries, it all generally works itself out in the end.

RPI is out today with UK ranked 6th with their SOS at #7.

UK lost to now # 1 UCLA on a neutral court by 5, and had a good chance at victory until Bradley lost the ball in the closing seconds.

 

UK lost to now the # 2 team, North Carolina, at the Dean Dome.

 

UK's 3rd loss was to another rated team, Memphis, and this one was ugly.

 

But..... I don't see how the voters can drop them to #34. UK would kick butt over quite a few of the teams rated above them.

Where is UConn's good win?

There is no doubt they should be ranked when you look at what is ahead of them. They will get ranked and soon and this will continue to be a fine season!

Just keep winning and it will take care of everything.
