If Victor Moses from Henry Clay is not 1 of the top ten players we have a problem

Who in the world would know how good the freshmen are state wide.We only mention the kids from our area not knowing anything about other areas of the state. It seems that most topics on this site is about the 10th and 16th and a few from the 15th region.Do others see it this way or is it just me.:thumb:

 

Yes. There are plenty of other good players who go unnoticed/unmentioned in these types of rankings. Teams and players from certain regions get more hype and visibility on these message boards because there are more parents from those regions regularly participating on the boards. For example, Rose Hill and June Buchanon supporters have many, many more posts than other schools.

 

The players that have been listed are good, and there are also many more who haven't been mentioned and fly under the radar for various reasons, such as a lack of exposure, playing on a weak team or a strong team, being an unselfish player who doesn't shoot a lot, etc. To rank certain ones over others is awfully difficult unless you've seen ALL of them play and against each other. No doubt Euton and Jackson and Cox are among the top players. I see Euton and Jackson as a legitmate top 5, based on watching them in school and AAU ball over the years. There are several others I've seen in school ball and in the AAU circuit who are very good too and could challenge for the other 3 spots. I still think it is hard to narrow it down to a top 5 at this point. What do you base such rankings on? Statistics? Hype? Publicity? Team record? Past Success?

Hey have you not seen Jeremy Anderson from Warren Central play?

 

Personally, I watchedAnderson against Ballard in the KOB and all their speed and quickness shut him down. I think Britt is a better player than anderson.

My top five are Doug Beaumont, Tanner Jacobs, Stephon Pettigrew, Jon Vanhoose, Preston Knowles.

Does anyone have any info on Preston Knowles and who he is being recruited by?

 

He is a 6'1 senior and has started for GRC for the last 4 years. He is a very unselfish player, loves to give great passes, great court vision. Outstanding leaper and aggressive defender. Last year Preston averaged 21 points a game. He is very athletic, great basketball knowledge and a player you really enjoy watching play the game. If he needs to score he can take you off the dribble, very hard to stop. Not sure on his assists, ball deflections and rebound average, but they are very impressive as well.

 

Xavier has been hot after him for a long time. K-State, Morehead, Eastern, have all made offers. Va Commonwealth is scouting him this next week. A scout will be at the North Laurel game...can't remember what school, but it is D-1. Other D-1 schools have shown their interest and will be at some games to scout him before the season is over. After the 5/3 he is getting more attention...and rightly so.

How is Austin Hill and Greg Rice of Holmes not getting any love when they are both averaging 20 points a game?

 

Both of those guys would start on any team in the state

Points per game means very little. You have kids that could be averaging twice what they are for various reasons. Do you think Austin Hill would average 25 a game playing for Scott County? Would Clark Stepp get 20 a game for Ballard? Some top teams just blow out their comp early and the coach sits his starters. Those players that get 15 points in a just a half of play could have gotten 30 or more if the coach keeps them in.

I agree with you, I saw this kid play last year in a middle school AAU tournament down here in Lexington. I have been putting his name out there this year because he really impressed me, he is a special talent.

They may not have the same stats but shelby valley has some very good freshmen players.
